What are the precautions for children to take when taking intestinal worm clearing?

There are now many medical institutions that can provide free medical services to children, such as regular physical examinations for children, regular feeding of medicines to prevent certain diseases, etc. When we find worms in a child's body, the doctor will recommend taking some intestinal worm medicine to achieve the effect of expelling worms. However, enteroworm clearing should not be taken casually. So what precautions should be taken when taking this medicine?

According to general medication experience, the dosage for children should be smaller than that for adults. However, the dosage of Enteroworm Clear is stipulated as: two tablets for everyone from children over two years old to adults, which makes some parents worry when giving the medicine to their children. In fact, after oral administration, most of the enteroworm clearing agent (95%) is not absorbed by the human body and is excreted with feces within 24 hours. Only 5% completes the task of killing larvae in tissues, adult worms and eggs in the intestines and is excreted with urine within 48 hours. This shows that Enterococcus aureus is a drug that is poorly absorbed and not easily accumulated in the body. Therefore, a single dose is often used clinically, without the need to calculate the dose based on body weight.

After children take anthelmintics, it is best to eat some sour food, such as black plum, hawthorn, vinegar, etc., which may be more effective. Ascaris has the characteristic of "going dormant in sourness". When it encounters sour foods such as black plum, hawthorn, vinegar, etc., ascaris will temporarily lie dormant. Therefore, acidic foods themselves can be considered a good medicine for ascaris. After taking anthelmintics, children can boil sour foods such as black plums and hawthorns into a thick soup and drink it, which is conducive to the excretion of roundworms.

After taking anthelmintics, you should drink more water and eat more foods containing plant fiber. Because water and plant fiber can enhance intestinal peristalsis, promote defecation, and promptly excrete the insects killed or paralyzed by drugs along with the feces. Foods high in fiber include cereals, nuts, fresh vegetables and fruits, such as celery, leeks, spinach, bananas, peaches, strawberries, etc.; eat less oily foods, because anthelmintics are mostly fat-soluble drugs and only have local therapeutic effects in the intestines. If you consume too much food with high oil content, it will promote the absorption of anthelmintics in the body, which not only increases their toxicity to the human body, but also reduces their efficacy; eat less "gas-producing" foods, such as radishes, sweet potatoes, beans, etc., to prevent abdominal distension and constipation, which is not conducive to deworming.
