Why does a child vomit after drinking water?

In life, children are quite active every day, especially when the weather is hot. Children will sweat a lot when exercising, so they need to drink some water. However, many children do not like to drink water, or due to some other reasons, the children vomit after drinking water. This makes parents not know what to do. How should parents give their children water so that they will not vomit?

1. What is the reason for the child to vomit after drinking water?

1. The child doesn’t like drinking water because he feels it has no taste.

2. The baby may have caught a cold and has a cold stomach. Feed your baby some ginger and brown sugar tea, which is good for removing cold. And ginger is a holy grail for stopping vomiting. After the cold is over, the child will be fine. If vomiting is severe, you need to feed some salt water to avoid dehydration.

3. If the baby has a fever and is in poor spirits. It is best to go to the hospital for a check-up to avoid encephalitis. If the doctor confirms that it is not encephalitis, there is no need for intravenous drips, injections or medication.

2. The correct way to give water to children

Drink more boiled water and less beverages

Many beverages attract customers through their taste. They still contain 98% water, but the taste is changed by adding auxiliary elements. Children's beverages in particular can cater to children's tastes. If the influence of harmful elements added by unscrupulous merchants is eliminated, drinking them moderately will not have much impact on children.

However, parents must not replace boiled water with beverages, because beverages contain a lot of sugar. It is not good for children's health if they consume too much sugar. Moreover, if children become addicted to a certain beverage for a long time and do not drink other water, it is also harmful to their body. Boiled water itself has unique biological activity and the greatest affinity for cells. It can quickly enter dehydrated cells, promote metabolism, and enhance immunity. In addition, boiled water can regulate body temperature, help the body dissipate heat, and prevent children from heatstroke. Therefore, boiled water is best for children.

Don't drink water that is too hot or too cold

Don't drink too cold water in summer and don't drink too hot water in winter. It is better to use warm water at any time, because no matter how the temperature outside changes, your gastrointestinal tract is only suitable for an optimal temperature, especially for children. The gastrointestinal function is not as well developed as that of adults, so they do not have such a good adaptability to too cold or too hot water. Too cold water can cause stomach cramps and give children stomach pain.

Don't drink salt water casually

Some parents believe that children will lose salt if they sweat too much, so they give their children light salt water to drink when they sweat too much. In fact, this is not necessary at all. This is because our daily dietary structure already contains enough salt. Although children's body structure makes them sweat more easily than adults, they only need to supplement with boiled water, because even very light salt water may cause gastrointestinal discomfort in children, which is counterproductive.
