As children grow up, they are bound to develop various diseases. Intestinal spasm is a common disease among children. Intestinal spasm is a gastrointestinal disease. There are many causes of this disease, including excessive gas in the intestines, food allergies, and sudden increase in intestinal motility. Children suffering from intestinal spasms generally face great pain, especially abdominal pain. Generally speaking, children of different ages experience different symptoms. The following will be divided into three groups: normally healthy children, individually sick children, and a small number of older children, and a comprehensive introduction to the symptoms of intestinal spasms in children. Intestinal spasm refers to intestinal cramps, which is a gastrointestinal disease as the name suggests. Intestinal activity is controlled by nerves and intestinal hormones. When there is a blockage, the intestines will naturally "contract" and speed up peristalsis to expel the obstruction. When the intestines contract, ischemic pain occurs, causing the patient to experience cramp-like pain. The specific symptoms are as follows: 1. Normally healthy children If paroxysmal, intermittent abdominal pain occurs suddenly, and no abnormal physical signs are found during the intervals, then this is the main feature of this disease. The child's abdominal pain may last for several minutes or dozens of minutes, coming and going. After repeated attacks for tens of minutes or hours, the abdominal pain may no longer occur. 2. Individual children The recurrent abdominal pain can last for several days. The severity of the pain varies. In severe cases, the patient may roll over on the ground. In typical cases, the abdominal pain is often mainly located around the navel, that is, the spasm occurs in the small intestine. When spasm occurs in the proximal large intestine, the pain is in the right lower abdomen; when spasm occurs in the distal large intestine, pain occurs in the left lower abdomen; if the child has abdominal pain before defecation, it may be spasm of the descending colon or sigmoid colon. 3. A small number of older children The colic may occur in the ribs, usually on one side, due to spasm of the hepatic or splenic flexure of the colon. Younger people may also experience colic in the abdominal area under the xiphoid process due to spasm of the stomach. Strictly speaking, this is not intestinal spasm but gastric spasm. However, because the mechanism of their occurrence is similar, massage treatment for intestinal spasm is also effective. |
