What are the methods for children to correct their teeth?

Nowadays, people attach great importance to personal image, especially parents. If their children have problems with tooth deformities, they will take their children to the dental clinic for orthodontic treatment in time. Some parents do not know much about orthodontic knowledge. In fact, there are four main methods of tooth correction. Choose the appropriate correction method according to the different symptoms of tooth deformities.

1. Removable appliance

This method of orthodontic treatment is mainly used for patients with crooked teeth during the deciduous or replacement period. Patients can take them off and put them on by themselves, which is relatively simple. At the same time, it can also be corrected with fixed appliances to make teeth correction more rapid.

2. Fixed orthodontic appliances

This method of tooth correction is mainly used for tooth correction during the permanent tooth period. Patients cannot remove them by themselves and need to be removed by a doctor. It is also one of the most commonly used methods of tooth correction.

3. Orthognathic surgery

Some patients have severe maxillofacial deformities, such as maxillary retrusion, mandibular protrusion, etc. If braces are used for tooth correction, the effect is not obvious. The effect is better when orthognathic surgery and braces are combined.

4. Cosmetic crown tooth correction

For adults, because traditional tooth correction is difficult, cosmetic crown tooth correction is generally used. It is to process the teeth on the original teeth and finally repair them with crowns to achieve the purpose of tooth correction. It is also a quick method for teeth correction in adults.

Things to note when orthodontics

1: During the orthodontic process, the fixed appliance is bonded to the teeth with special materials. In the first two to five days of orthodontic treatment, the teeth may feel sore due to the force. After each follow-up visit, the patient may feel tightness and pain in the teeth, but it is very mild. However, severe pain is not normal.

2. Patients should also pay attention to oral hygiene and brush their teeth carefully and correctly every day. It is best to use a special orthodontic toothbrush. Food plaque on the surface of the teeth should also be removed after meals every day.
