Teething

Teething

The baby's teething period is a very important thing, because the baby's teeth are gradually growing during this period, so it is also an important sign that directly witnesses the baby's healthy growth. Since it is the first time for the baby to grow teeth, there are many changes in the baby's body during the teething period, which requires parents' careful attention. So what characteristics will appear on the baby's body when it grows teeth?

What are the characteristics of baby teething?

It may be accompanied by low fever, drooling, sucking fingers, irritability, emotional instability, and biting the nipple or pacifier when feeding. Some babies show loss of appetite. It is recommended to use teethers or teething sticks for babies to relieve gum discomfort during teething.

What should I pay attention to during my baby's teething period?

1. When your baby starts drinking milk after birth, it is best to clean his or her mouth after each feeding. You can use gauze to clean it or rinse your baby's mouth with water. Babies who have not yet started eating complementary foods are very resistant to oral cleaning and should be cleaned at least once before going to bed at night.

2. Teething is generally painless, but some babies may feel uncomfortable and irritable. Wet gauze placed in the child's mouth and rubbed against the gums may help; a cool teething ring can also be used to relieve gum discomfort during teething.

3. During the teething process, infants and young children may experience emotional discomfort, and sometimes their gums may hurt, causing low fever and causing the child to cry incessantly. At this time, the mother should hug the child more and give more comfort.

4. I want to use the force of biting to reduce the pressure of teeth growing under the gums. Avoid letting children bite hard objects to prevent bleeding gums. Gently massage the gums with clean fingers to relieve pain.

5. About 2 months before teething, most babies will drool or put their hands into their mouths to scratch. You can see that the local gums are white or slightly red and swollen. When drooling, children should wear a "neck collar" to protect their neck, and use a soft, absorbent towel to gently wipe the corners of the mouth, cheeks, chin, etc. to avoid redness and wrinkles.

6. During this period, the resistance of infants and young children will be slightly reduced, so you must pay attention to preventing infection, keep children warm in cold seasons, and keep them clean and hygienic.

7. When your baby's first tooth comes out, you should brush his teeth twice a day. The most important time is before bed at night. Use a soft baby toothbrush, apply a small amount of toothpaste, and gently brush his teeth. Be careful not to let children swallow toothpaste.

What are the characteristics of the baby's teething period? The baby will start to grind his gums with his little hands to eliminate discomfort. At this time, we should take reasonable care of the baby's emotions, relieve them in the right way, and guide them carefully and patiently. Since the baby is too young during infancy, it is recommended that you observe the baby's physiological condition at all times so as to take appropriate measures.
