How to treat children's cough quickly?

Children's cough is generally caused by low immunity, which makes them susceptible to bacterial infection and tracheal inflammation. Children who cough may suffer from anorexia and lack of sleep, which in turn affects their physical development. When treating children's cough, do not just use cough medicine, otherwise it may cause other diseases. You should use the right medicine for the right condition. Here are some tips for treating a child's cough.

1. Orange peel

Many people believe that oranges can relieve coughs and reduce phlegm, so they let children with coughs eat more oranges. In fact, this is wrong. In fact, tangerine peel does have the effect of relieving cough and reducing phlegm, but tangerine flesh can generate heat and phlegm. It is impossible for ordinary children to eat only the peel without eating the orange flesh. Therefore, children should eat a light diet during their cough period. For children with long-term cough, you can boil pears and rock sugar in water to drink, which has the effect of moistening the lungs and relieving coughs. You can also cook porridge with fresh lilies, which is very effective for children who have been coughing for a long time and have weak lung qi. For children with spleen deficiency, they can eat more yam, or cook lotus seed porridge, coix seed porridge and jujube porridge.

2. Drink warm beverages

Letting babies drink more warm drinks can make their sticky phlegm thinner, relieve the tension of the respiratory mucosa, and promote coughing up phlegm. It is best to let your baby drink warm water or warm milk, rice soup, etc. You can also give your baby fresh fruit juice. The fruit juice should be less irritating such as apple juice and pear juice. It is not advisable to drink citrus juice such as orange juice and grapefruit juice.

3. Steam

If your baby has a severe cough, let him/her inhale steam; or hold your baby in a steam-filled bathroom for 5 minutes. The humid air will help clear mucus from your baby's lungs and calm your cough. There is also fogging treatment now.

4. Hot water bottle back

Another method is to use a hot water bag to relieve cough. Fill a hot water bottle with hot water at about 40℃, wrap it with a thin towel, and then apply it to the baby's back near the lungs. This can speed up the expulsion of cold and is especially effective for cough symptoms that appear in the early stages of colds.

5. Chinese Massage

We can also use Chinese medicine pediatric massage treatment, which means using Chinese medicine massage therapy to treat and relieve children's cough-related symptoms. However, this requires a professional doctor to perform the operation, and you must not ask some street swindlers to treat it.

6. Treat the symptoms

The most important thing is to find out the cause of the cough so that you can treat it correctly. If it is a respiratory bacterial infection, antibiotics should be used; if it is a respiratory viral infection, antiviral drugs should be used; since most chronic coughs lasting more than 2 months are allergic coughs, the main treatment should be to eliminate allergic inflammation of the respiratory tract; if combined with allergic rhinitis, it may be allergic rhinitis, and desensitization treatment should be the main treatment.
