What should we do if primary school students have myopia?

Myopia in primary school students is a headache for parents. After all, if they are myopic at such a young age, they will worry about their future studies, life or work problems. Therefore, it is recommended that children have more eye health examinations and some recovery training.

The first step is to do relevant eye health examinations, including slit lamp and funduscopy. Slit lamp examination can rule out eye diseases such as keratitis, trichiasis, cataracts, etc., and funduscopy can rule out diseases such as glaucoma, all of which may cause decreased vision;

The second step is to dilate the pupil. For those who are getting glasses for the first time, dilation is required regardless of age. Generally, hospitals require that the pupil should be dilated for more than one week for children under 12 years old, and for children over 12 years old, the pupil can be dilated for a short time. Atropine mydriatic solution should be dripped continuously for 5 times, with an interval of 5 minutes between each time. The hospital uses advanced technology to quickly dilate the pupils of everyone (including children under 12 years old), and the dilation can be completed in about an hour.

The third step is to check your vision, which is often called lens insertion optometry;

The fourth step is to do a binocular vision adjustment test, which can clarify the coordination degree of binocular vision convergence and dispersion, so as to make the glasses more suitable;

The fifth step is to combine the above four steps to fit the glasses. Only in this way can the glasses be more suitable.
