What are the symptoms of slow intellectual development in children?

Intellectual retardation in children is a relatively serious problem. Therefore, all parents should pay attention to whether their children have signs of intellectual retardation, such as abnormal crying, or dull expressions, and no response to the outside world. They must pay attention.

1. Abnormal crying.

That is to say, the time from the time a child is stimulated to the time he or she starts crying is relatively long. Sometimes, repeated or continuous stimulation is required to cause the child to cry, or the crying may be sharp or small and weak. Some children never cry or make a fuss and appear overly well-behaved. This is also a common manifestation of abnormal intellectual development in children.

2. Slow reaction.

For example, they react slowly to external signals, cannot look at slowly moving objects above their face at six months old, or cannot turn bricks in the direction of the sound in time when a sound is heard somewhere, or cannot even turn over by themselves or sit steadily without the help of an adult.

3. Poor pronunciation.

The child's speech development is in an extremely backward state. He is unable to babble until he is about ten months old. His pronunciation is even very backward and unclear. He is unwilling to communicate with others and will not show any emotion or even simple eye contact to people or things that he is not interested in.

4. Insufficient sucking ability.

It is obvious that the baby is struggling when sucking on a nipple or pacifier, which clearly shows that he or she is not strong enough.

5. Too much sleep.

Although children need a slightly longer sleep time, it does not mean that the longer they sleep, the better. It is not a good thing for children to sleep too much.

6. The expression is dull.

Often maintaining one or very few facial expressions, giving people the feeling that they are dull and sluggish.

7. Delayed development of the motor system.

Children with motor delays also need adults to pay more attention, and they can regularly guide children to do various exercises within their ability.
