Parents need to know how to effectively treat hand, foot and mouth disease. After all, many babies are susceptible to these diseases. During this period, it is important to take the baby to the doctor in time, provide proper water and nutrition in the diet, and let the baby rest in bed. 1. Once the baby is found to be infected with hand, foot and mouth disease, he should seek medical attention in time and avoid contact with the outside world. Generally, he needs to be isolated for 2 weeks. Items used by the baby should be thoroughly disinfected: they can be soaked in chlorine-containing disinfectant, and items that are not suitable for soaking can be exposed to sunlight. The baby's room should be ventilated by opening windows regularly to keep the air fresh and flowing and the temperature appropriate. Families with the conditions can use lactic acid fumigation to disinfect the air every day. Reduce the number of people entering and leaving the baby's room, prohibit smoking, prevent air pollution, and avoid secondary infection. 2. Diet and nutrition: If a baby gets sick in the summer, he is prone to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance and needs proper hydration and nutrition. The baby should rest in bed for 1 week and drink plenty of warm water. The child had a poor appetite and was unwilling to eat due to fever and oral herpes. It is advisable to feed babies light, warm, delicious, easily digestible, soft liquid or semi-liquid food, and avoid cold, spicy, salty and other irritating foods. 3. Oral care: (1) Babies may refuse to eat, drool, cry and stay awake due to oral pain. You should keep your baby's mouth clean and rinse your mouth with saline before and after meals. For babies who cannot rinse their mouths, you can use a cotton swab dipped in saline to gently clean their mouths. (2) Vitamin B2 powder can be applied directly to the area of oral erosion, or cod liver oil can be applied. Vitamin B2 and vitamin C can also be taken orally, supplemented with ultrasonic nebulization inhalation to relieve pain, promote early healing of erosion, and prevent secondary bacterial infection. 4. Rash care: (1) The baby’s clothes and bedding should be clean, comfortable, soft, and changed frequently. (2) Cut your baby’s nails short and wrap his or her hands if necessary to prevent the baby from scratching the rash. (3) For babies with rashes on their buttocks, their urine and feces should be cleaned up at all times and their buttocks should be kept clean and dry. (4) In the early stages of a rash on the hands and feet, apply calamine lotion. When herpes forms or breaks, apply 0.5% iodine tincture. (5) Keep your skin clean to prevent infection. (6) Hand, foot and mouth disease in children usually presents with low or moderate fever and does not require special treatment. You can let your baby drink more water. (7) For babies whose body temperature is between 37.5℃ and 38.5℃, physical cooling methods such as heat dissipation, drinking more warm water, and taking warm baths should be used. |
