Symptoms of autism in 3-year-olds

The symptoms of autism in 3-year-old babies are not that obvious. Parents need to observe carefully to know whether their baby is suffering from this disease. If any abnormality is found, they should be taken to the hospital for detailed examination and treatment in time. Otherwise, it will have a great impact on their body and may even cause developmental abnormalities. Therefore, it is necessary to cure it as soon as possible.

The cause of autism remains unknown, but many researchers suspect it is controlled by genes and triggered by environmental factors. While the role of environmental factors remains unclear, researchers have found seven gene sets that are frequently found in people with autism.

The National Institute of Mental Health conservatively estimates that the prevalence of autism in the United States is one in every 1,000 people. The overall rate of autism in males is three to four times higher than that in females, but the symptoms in females are more severe than those in males. Data released by the United Nations show that the incidence of autism is 1 in 150. The diagnosis is based on a number of psychiatric principles, and there are a number of clinical tests that can assist in making the diagnosis.

Autism is not physically obvious, so diagnosis requires a complete physical and neurological evaluation. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, autism requires delayed development of social interaction, speech, and social communication before the age of three. ICD-10 also requires that symptoms appear before the age of three. Some autistic people can improve their social skills through diagnosis, treatment, internship and special education, and can participate in mainstream education and social activities. However, with the current level of medical technology, it is not possible to completely cure autism.
