Clinical manifestations of sepsis in children, high fever needs to be vigilant

Pediatric sepsis is an inflammatory response caused by infection. The child will have fever, chills, and rapid breathing. Pediatric sepsis is also contagious. It is necessary to provide isolation care, pay attention to the child's diet, and drink plenty of water to prevent suffocation caused by sepsis.

1. Symptoms

1. Systemic manifestations include fever, chills, accelerated heart rate, rapid breathing, and changes in white blood cell count and classification.

2. Infection increases serum C-reactive protein and procalcitonin.

3. Hemodynamics: Increased cardiac output, decreased systemic vascular resistance, and decreased oxygen extraction rate.

4. Metabolic changes Increased insulin demand and increased blood sugar.

5. Changes in tissue perfusion: Poor tissue perfusion and decreased urine output.

6. Organ dysfunction, increased urea nitrogen or creatinine, thrombocytopenia, hyperbilirubinemia, etc.

2. Sepsis Care

1. Keep a good mood, be optimistic, open-minded, and have strong confidence to overcome the disease.

2. Pay attention to getting enough sleep, avoid excessive fatigue, pay attention to the combination of work and rest, and pay attention to the regularity of life.

3. Eat a reasonable and light diet, drink plenty of water, and eat high-protein, high-vitamin, easily digestible liquid food.

4. Patients in the intensive care unit need to be prevented from falling out of bed, suffocation, and bedsores.
