What to do if your child lacks confidence

What to do if your child lacks confidence

In daily life, there are many ways to show a lack of confidence, the main manifestation of which is over-reliance on parents and not talking to people around them. When parents discover this abnormality, they need to correct it in time, otherwise it will have a great impact on future interactions.

1. Unwilling to talk or communicate with people around you

Sometimes children become less talkative because they are often criticized and blamed. As the cycle repeats itself, I no longer like to talk or communicate with people around me. I think that talking as little as possible can reduce or even avoid the chance of being scolded.

2. Over-dependence

Sometimes, children are unwilling to complete things that they can normally do independently and want to rely on people around them to do it for them. Children of this type often worry that they are not doing well, do not believe in themselves, and think that their parents will definitely do better than themselves if they help. I'm used to my parents doing everything for me.

3. Often envy other children

Sometimes children always see other children having better things and a better life; they have beautiful clothes and fun toys; although they have these too, they always feel that they are not as good as others and don’t like to play with their own things. In the minds of these children, the mentality of comparison, contrast, and even competition has begun to develop. When your living environment is not as good as others, you will gradually develop an envious mentality and reject yourself. If not guided correctly, it is likely to lead to jealousy.

4. Overly obedient children

All parents hope that their children are obedient and do not like naughty children. But psychologists believe that a slight deviation in children's words and deeds is beneficial to their physical and mental growth. Children who obey their parents' orders usually underestimate their self-worth, have low self-confidence, and are afraid of the environment and things happening in life. They use good behavior as a means of self-protection because the smaller the mistakes they make, the less so-called "risk" they have. These are all manifestations of their lack of self-confidence, and therefore they lack the ability to be enterprising and independent in their personality development.
