What are the causes of enuresis in children? This is the truth!

What are the causes of enuresis in children? This is the truth!

There are many reasons for enuresis in children. For example, some are caused by genetic factors. It may also be that the child is too tired from playing during the day and sleeps too deeply at night. It may also be caused by the child's illness.

1. Genetic factors: 30% of the fathers of children with enuresis and 20% of the mothers of children with enuresis also had enuresis when they were young. Conversely, if both parents have a history of enuresis, 40% of their sons will have enuresis and 25% of their daughters will also suffer from this disease. In addition, the probability of brothers of monozygotic twins having enuresis at the same time is 2 times higher than that of dizygotic twins. It can be seen that enuresis has a genetic tendency.

2. Sleeping too deeply: This is a common reason. Children of this type often play too much before going to bed and sleep too deeply, making it difficult to wake them up. They often wet the bed in their dreams. Drinking too much water before going to bed makes it more likely for them to wet the bed.

3. Delayed maturation of bladder function: Some children with enuresis tend to have smaller bladders than normal children. These children usually urinate more frequently but the amount of urine is not much. This is because there is not much urine in the bladder and it contracts to urinate.

4. Mental stress: According to clinical statistics, family discord, divorce, loss of both parents, abuse, children are more likely to wet the bed before entrance examinations. However, this type of enuresis is often temporary and will gradually disappear after a period of time.

5. Disease factors: Enuresis caused by organic diseases is rare. Urinary tract infection, deformity, ridge fissure, ridge membrane herniation, etc. can cause enuresis. In addition, asymptomatic bacteriuria and hypercalciuria can also cause enuresis, which should attract people's attention.

6. Common causes include: excessive fatigue during the day, mental stress, drinking too much water or eating sweets before going to bed, etc. If a child wets the bed, adults should not scold or beat the child, otherwise the child will become more nervous and more likely to wet the bed.

7. The key to treating bedwetting is to find out the cause and then treat it symptomatically. If it is functional enuresis, you can use acupuncture on Zhongji, Sanyinjiao, Shenshu, Qihai, and Guanyuan, choosing two to three acupoints each time, once a day, for a course of ten days; or take Chinese medicine: three grams each of mulberry silkworm cocoon, Alpinia oxyphylla, Rubus idaeus, Cuscuta australis, and Cherry laevigata, decocted in water and taken orally. Take one dose per day for five consecutive days.
