Post-circumcision care for children

Post-circumcision care for children

Circumcision is the most common male surgery. There are many advantages after circumcision, especially for young children. If phimosis or even foreskin incarceration occurs, it will affect the health of the child's private parts and sometimes affect the good development of the penis. Children need to be cared for more after circumcision, and parents must understand some precautions in this regard.

Post-circumcision care for children

1. The operation takes about 20 to 30 minutes and does not require hospitalization.

2. There will be slight pain and bruising on the wound after the operation. You should take painkillers regularly and it will heal in about 7 to 10 days. You can have a normal sex life after one month.

3. Before the wound heals, regular follow-up examinations should be conducted.

4. The wound should be kept clean and dry after surgery, and be careful not to wet the gauze when urinating.

5. The wound is sutured with absorbable sutures, so there is no need to remove the sutures.

6. If the penis is erect, please protect the wound with one hand and pinch the glans with the other hand to hurt it, allowing the penis to naturally subside to avoid the wound from splitting.

7. If the wound is swollen, painful and bleeding, you can apply local cold compress and pressure to stop the bleeding; if the bleeding is severe, you should return to the hospital for treatment immediately.

8. Prepare a few extra pairs of underwear for changing (or buy disposable underwear), because tissue fluid may seep out and stain your underwear during the recovery period.

9. It is best to avoid sexual thoughts during the recovery period, otherwise the natural physiological reaction will make you suffer! Patients can resume their sexual life one month after the operation.

10. Carefully choose a qualified physician to perform the surgery, as the physician's skills will affect the postoperative appearance and recovery process.

Under what circumstances is it necessary to undergo foreskin surgery?

According to expert guidance, foreskin surgery is the main method for treating foreskin that is too long. Generally, foreskin that is too long needs to be treated through surgery. Circumcision should be considered in the following cases:

1. Those whose penis looks ugly

Experts say that circumcision can make a positive change in the appearance of a man's penis, thereby helping men increase their confidence.

2. Sexually transmitted diseases in the foreskin

Sexually transmitted diseases that often recur locally on the foreskin, such as herpes, are difficult problems to deal with. Because the dead corners buried in the overly long foreskin "cannot be burned by wild fire, but will grow again with the spring breeze." Circumcision is helpful for complete treatment and permanent prevention.

3. Complete foreskin

What is the common sense about foreskin? Complete foreskin is that the foreskin covers the glans and is not easy to turn over and clean. The most common cause is a narrow foreskin ring.

4. Foreskin is too long and affects sexual life

Experts point out that if the foreskin is too long and affects sexual life, circumcision surgery should be considered. The foreskin of many men is particularly prone to dermatitis. After contact with women, they may develop itching and rashes similar to allergies due to the other party's body fluids or the lubricant on the condom.
