What to do if your child vomits after falling

If a child vomits after falling, you need to take the baby to the hospital for examination in time, because if it is confirmed that the vomiting occurs after the fall, the situation may be more serious, and it may be caused by concussion or intracranial hemorrhage.

1. Generally, if you fall and hit your head and cause severe concussion or intracranial hemorrhage, the symptoms will occur quickly, at the latest within 24 hours, so go to the hospital as soon as possible if you have symptoms.

2. If the baby falls and hits his head and there is no bleeding but a small swelling, he should be treated with cold compress immediately. If the swelling is large or red, you can apply some sesame oil as an emergency measure, or apply moistened potato slices on it, which can help relieve pain and remove blood stasis.

3. For a while after the baby falls, try to talk to him and tease him to divert his excitement, and do not hold him while sleeping. If the baby falls asleep soon after crying after falling, wake him up within an hour. If he wakes up crying, then there is no problem.

4. Even if you fall on your head, don't always suspect that it is a concussion. A concussion is characterized by a period of loss of consciousness and awareness. If the baby remains conscious, there will be no problem. If the baby vomits, it may be caused by fright or a temporary brain concussion. Generally, it will be better after vomiting two or three times, which is different from a concussion. Even if it is a concussion, if it is mild, there will be no sequelae.

5. After the baby falls and hits his head, he should be observed for two days. Try to let him rest more and move less during these two days. If you remain in good spirits and have a normal appetite within two days, you can rest assured.
