What is the normal stool of a 50-day-old baby?

A baby's stool can reflect many problems. For example, the color and consistency of the stool can tell whether the baby has indigestion, whether there is a problem with the breast milk, or whether the baby has accidentally caught a cold. Generally speaking, the appearance of the baby's stool will be different depending on what the baby eats. Here is what normal stool looks like after 50 days. It depends on the person and is for reference only.

1. The feces excreted by a baby in the first few days after birth is medically called meconium. The characteristics of meconium are that it has no odor, is sticky, and has a dark green color. Generally, the meconium is discharged after 3 days.

2. The feces of breastfed babies are golden yellow, like ointment, with an acidic smell but no obvious odor. They usually have 34 bowel movements a day.

3. The stool of babies who drink milk is light yellow or earthy gray, like hard paste, with a slightly foul smell, neutral or alkaline reaction, and they defecate 12 times a day.

4. The stool of children who are fed with cow's milk instead of breast milk is basically the same as that of formula-fed children. If milk cake or rice flour is added, the child's stool will be softer, more in volume, a bit dark brown in color, and have a distinct odor. If you add vegetable puree, your child's stool may be vegetable-colored, which is normal.

The baby's stool is mixed with foam because the child has indigestion. If it is accompanied by severe vomiting, it is very likely that the child has enteritis and needs to seek medical attention immediately. In addition, improper addition of complementary foods can also cause diarrhea in children, such as adding too quickly, too much, too early, etc. The frequency, color and shape of a baby's stool are closely related to his daily diet. Careful parents can make basic judgments if they observe carefully.
