The manifestations of developmental delay in children, mothers must read

Children's development and growth rates are very fast, and the development levels of children at each stage are different. However, if a child has developmental delay, there are some manifestations, such as in language and intelligence.

1. Delayed language development: The child is unable to speak after reaching the age of learning to speak. After starting to speak, development is slower or stagnates compared to other normal children. Low language skills. The application of language, vocabulary and grammar are all lower than that of children of the same age. Accompanied by frequent opening of the mouth, sticking out the tongue, drooling, grinding of teeth, dull eyes, and frequent unconscious expressions or movements.

2. Physical development retardation : Compared with children of the same age, the height, weight and head circumference are all relatively low and do not meet the developmental indicators of normal children. You should consult a professional doctor in time to confirm whether further examination is needed.

3. Intellectual retardation : After entering school, they have learning difficulties, low comprehension, lack of analytical and comprehensive abilities, simple thinking, and can barely reach the level of elementary school graduation after hard work. They have certain social skills and have low level of occupational adaptability in adulthood. They are often docile, lack independent thinking, and lack the ability to cope with environmental changes.

Precautions

Each child has individual differences in language development, some early and some late, but if a child cannot speak or has no communicative language by the age of 3, parents should consider whether the child has developmental delay. Language delay refers to the abnormal development level of a child's oral expression or language comprehension ability that lags significantly behind that of children of the same age due to various reasons.
