How to supplement zinc deficiency in 9-month-old babies

For a baby, his every move affects his parents' hearts, so once the baby has some physical problems, the parents will be anxious and want to use any method to make the baby get better quickly. As the baby grows up day by day, breast milk obviously can no longer meet the baby's nutritional needs. So, how should a nine-month-old baby supplement zinc if he is deficient in zinc?

1. Medicinal supplements. When a baby is diagnosed with zinc deficiency by a doctor, he or she needs to be treated with zinc preparations. The supplement dosage and course of treatment need to be determined by the doctor based on the specific situation of the child. After the symptoms disappear, there is no need to continue taking the medication to avoid overdose. In addition, if symptoms do not improve after one month of using zinc preparations, the medication should be stopped immediately and other detailed examinations should be performed to determine the cause. Parents should not give their children zinc supplements on their own to avoid side effects.

2. From 4 months old, babies should start adding easily absorbed zinc-rich complementary foods: minced lean meat, egg yolks, fish paste, animal liver, oysters, peanut rice flour, walnut kernel powder, etc. For babies after weaning, zinc-rich foods should be added. Such as beef, mutton, lean pork, animal liver, peanuts, soybeans, carrots, oysters, etc. As for babies over 5 years old, they can get enough zinc from food. Therefore, parents should educate their children from an early age to develop good habits of not being picky or partial to food.

3. Dietary supplements. Oyster soup. Ingredients: 60 grams of fresh oyster meat, seaweed, onion, ginger, and appropriate seasoning.

Method: Wash and slice the oysters. Wash the seaweed and put it in a large bowl. Add broth, oyster meat slices, chopped green onions, and shredded ginger. Steam in a steamer for 30 minutes. Take it out, add salt and pepper, mix well and it is ready to eat.
