Why does my baby have bad breath and grind his teeth?

Some children are very young but have bad breath. It should be noted that some people's bad breath may not be directly related to diet. Of course, some people's bad breath may be caused by eating garlic or onions. If you have bad breath problems and it lasts for a long time, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up to find out the specific cause. At the same time, you should pay attention to oral hygiene. Even for children, parents should help their babies brush their teeth and do oral cleaning.

There are many reasons for teeth grinding, such as unreasonable diet, food stagnation in the body, leading to gastrointestinal dysfunction, and the teeth continue to work after falling asleep, and the chewing muscles also move accordingly, causing teeth grinding; it may also be caused by intestinal parasites, the most common of which are roundworms and pinworms. They parasitize in the body, release toxins, and cause a series of symptoms such as loss of appetite, abdominal pain, irritability, anal itching, slow growth and development, teeth grinding, etc.; if the child's teeth are not straight, it will also cause teeth grinding. In addition, it may be due to excessive tension during the day or excessive excitement before going to bed, which causes the nervous system to remain in an excited state after falling asleep and causes teeth grinding.

Consider whether the bad breath is oral or non-oral. If factors related to bad breath cannot be ruled out, such as respiratory diseases (infection and necrosis of the nasal cavity, maxillary sinus, pharynx, and lungs), digestive system diseases (gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, gastrointestinal metabolic disorders, constipation, etc.), solid organ damage (liver failure, renal failure), diabetic ketoacidosis, uremia, leukemia, vitamin deficiency, etc., these diseases should be treated locally or systemically first.

If the child can eat by himself, parents can let the baby eat some apples, or drink some apple juice, which can relieve bad breath. In addition, children can be allowed to drink some scented tea appropriately, which can also relieve bad breath. In addition, a detailed examination of the child's mouth is required, mainly to observe whether there is any inflammation or food residue.
