How to bask in the sun when you have high jaundice

We all know that the birth of a baby will bring a lot of happiness and hope to a family, but the birth of a newborn will inevitably be subject to various threats, jaundice being one of them. We all know that general jaundice is not a big problem, as long as you pay attention to it, but if it is serious, hospitalization is required. So what should you do if you have high jaundice and want to bask in the sun? Let’s take a look at this issue together.

1. For a breastfed baby, if everything is normal except jaundice and the child is in a good mental state, it is mostly breast milk jaundice and there is no need to worry too much. It takes about a month for breast milk jaundice to subside. If jaundice is severe, treatment may require artificial blue light irradiation or other methods.

2. For newborns with mild jaundice, more sun exposure can also help reduce jaundice. But there are a few points to note: the baby should be exposed to sunlight through the glass window when there is plenty of sunshine, so that the skin can be fully exposed to more sunlight, and be careful not to catch a cold; pay attention to protecting the eyes and perineum; the exposure time should be half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the afternoon, and pay attention to changing body positions to avoid sunburn.

3. Jaundice starts from the head and fades from the feet, but the eyes are the first to turn yellow and fade away the last, so you can start by observing the eyes. If you don't know what to do, experts suggest that you can press any part of the body. As long as the skin you press appears white, it's fine. If it appears yellow, you should be careful.

4. Pay attention to the color of your baby's stool. If there is a problem with the liver or bile duct, the stool will turn white, but it will not turn white suddenly, but will become lighter and lighter. If the stool suddenly turns yellow, you must take it to a doctor. This is because under normal circumstances, the bilirubin processed by the liver will be excreted through the bile duct to the intestines, which is why the feces have color. However, when the biliary tract is blocked, bilirubin accumulates in the liver and cannot be excreted, which will cause liver damage. In this case, surgery must be performed within two months of the baby to clear the bile duct or create a new bile duct to improve the condition.

5. If it is proven that jaundice is caused by insufficient feeding, the mother must feed the baby frequently, because milk secretion is a normal physiological reaction. Frequent sucking will stimulate the secretion of lactogen, and more milk will be secreted. Never think that the baby is not eating enough or that jaundice persists, and supplement with water or sugar water. Mothers who are not sure whether their babies are eating enough can observe the number of times they urinate. If they urinate more than 6 times a day and their baby's weight continues to increase, it means that the amount they are eating is enough. But you still need to observe the baby's subsequent condition changes. If the jaundice subsides and then increases again, there is definitely a problem and you must go to the hospital for a check-up in time.

The above introduces some situations on how to sunbathe when the baby has high jaundice. We should pay close attention to the changes of the newborn when the baby is born. If jaundice is found, it should be treated in time. At the same time, we should pay attention to all the symptoms of the baby. In addition, we should also pay attention to the feeding situation. Once a serious situation occurs, it must be hospitalized in time.
