How to treat sinusitis in a two-year-old baby

Adults are very anxious when children get a little sick. If you don't take good care of your child's nostrils, it is easy for the child to suffer from sinusitis. The child is too young. If the nose is not well cared for, or if it is exposed to allergens, it will cause the baby to suffer from sinusitis. After the baby suffers from sinusitis, the nose will be inflamed. The baby's nose will feel uncomfortable when the nose is inflamed. So what should I do if a two-year-old baby suffers from sinusitis?

Treatment of acute sinusitis

Adequate systemic antibiotics should be used as early as possible to control infection and anti-allergic reactions. Apply nasal mucosa astringents (nasal eye net is prohibited) and glucocorticoids locally in the nasal cavity to facilitate ventilation and drainage of the nasal cavity and sinuses. In addition, attention should be paid to rest and nutritious and easily digestible food. If there are complications, they should be treated simultaneously.

Treatment of chronic sinusitis

In addition to general treatment, sinus replacement can also be considered, which is more effective for patients with ethmoid sinusitis and pansinusitis. It can also be supplemented with physical therapy. People with atopic constitution can be combined with anti-allergic therapy. For older children with chronic maxillary sinusitis, maxillary sinus puncture and irrigation can also be considered. After irrigation, antibiotic solution can be injected into the sinus cavity. Considering that most children with chronic maxillary sinusitis may be related to local immune deficiency, a mixture of 0.2%-0.5% levamisole and antibiotics can also be injected into the sinus cavity. Children with sinusitis can usually recover after proper treatment, and surgery is generally not required.

Since nasal mucus is often thick, some medicines that can thin the mucus can be used, such as Sinlube and Honeysuckle Oil.

If symptoms do not improve satisfactorily after repeated treatments, or if nasal examination and sinus CT scan reveal nasal polyps in the nasal cavity that seriously affect nasal ventilation, sinus surgery may be considered. Some children have intraorbital or intracranial complications of sinusitis due to abnormal structures in the nasal cavity, which is also an indication for surgery. However, since the child is still in the growth and development period, the scope of the operation should not be too large, and the normal nasal structure should be preserved as much as possible to avoid affecting the maxillofacial development.

It is necessary to take timely anti-inflammatory measures after the baby suffers from sinusitis. When choosing sinusitis medication for the baby, you must choose those with relatively small hormonal properties. When treating the baby's sinusitis, it is best to find out the allergens for the baby in time. Allergens must be avoided so that the baby's sinusitis can be better controlled.
