Why does a child's ear hurt when he yawns?

Yawning is a very normal physiological phenomenon, reflecting that our body feels tired or the brain is lacking oxygen. Generally, it can be greatly improved by sleeping or breathing fresh air. It will not affect the health of the body or other organs. However, some children experience ear pain when yawning. What is going on? Come and take a look.

1. Why do you feel ear pain when you yawn?

If you yawn vigorously, your ears will be pulled. Also, when you yawn, the air pressure inside the ear becomes unbalanced with the air pressure outside, which can cause the eardrum to be squeezed. This can cause pain, but it's not very serious. In normal times, be careful not to eat irritating substances, and if you hear strange noises, consider whether it is tinnitus. You may have been under a lot of stress recently. Pay attention to reducing stress and keep a cheerful mood.

Other causes of ear pain

1. Tinnitus: It is mostly low-pitched and intermittent, such as "crackling", buzzing and the sound of running water. When the head moves or when yawning or blowing the nose, a sound of air passing through water may be heard in the ears.

2. Earache: Acute cases may cause dull earache, which is often the first symptom of the patient. It may be continuous or cramping. In chronic cases, ear pain is not obvious. This disease is often accompanied by a feeling of blockage or stuffiness in the ear, which can be temporarily relieved by pressing the tragus.

3. Hearing loss: decreased hearing and enhanced self-hearing. When the head tilts forward or toward the healthy side, hearing may temporarily improve (positional hearing improvement) because the effusion leaves the cochlear conduction. When the effusion is viscous, hearing may not change with changes in head position.

Ear pain in children is not a serious problem, so there is no need to worry about it. Just let them have a good rest. Don’t yawn too much, otherwise you will naturally feel ear pain by pulling your ears. However, if there is tinnitus and suppuration, you need to go to the hospital for examination in time.
