Why is the baby gasping for air?

Babies are still very small and have weak resistance. Sometimes they don't pay much attention to their health care, so they are more likely to be harmed by more diseases. Therefore, parents should pay special attention to these problems when taking care of their babies. Some parents will find that their babies are prone to panting in their daily lives. So what exactly is the problem?

Snoring is caused by obstruction of different levels of the upper respiratory tract during sleep, which leads to poor air flow and causes air to rotate in the airway, vibrating the soft tissue structure of the pharynx during inhalation, resulting in a dry sound. Most babies snore due to physiological reasons. Since babies cannot breathe through their mouths, nasal congestion from any cause can cause them to snore. Common causes include allergen stimulation and colds. Allergens include pollen, dust mites, fur, and cordyceps; pathogens include viruses and bacteria.

If the parents have allergies, the baby is likely to be susceptible to allergens due to genetics. Babies with certain facial features, such as small chin, retracted chin, macroglossia, etc., are prone to snoring due to their abnormal anatomical structure. Some premature babies, due to lack of sufficient calcium from their mothers, may have congenital laryngeal cartilage dysplasia and are prone to tracheal softening. They must be extra careful to prevent colds and take calcium and vitamin D supplements in a timely manner.

Self-help methods to solve baby snoring:

1. Determine the severity of snoring. If it does not affect sleep, you can use a suction bulb to clear nasal secretions.

2. A humidifier can be placed in the baby's room. The increased air humidity will help discharge secretions from the nasal cavity. If these measures are ineffective, persist for a long time, and seriously affect sleep, you must seek medical attention immediately.

The above is an analysis of some of the reasons that may cause the baby to breathe heavily. After analyzing these reasons, you should now know what kind of conditions will cause the baby to breathe rapidly and the breathing seems to be heavy. Paying attention to these common sense and understanding of the reasons will protect the baby's health as much as possible.
