Fever is a very common thing in life. Many people think that fever has a great impact on the body, so they simply do not seek treatment and hope that the symptoms of fever will recover on their own. In fact, it is very difficult to recover from a fever on its own. Even if you do not take medicine, you still need physical conditioning. In particular, many parents think that their children should not take a bath when they have a fever, but some people think that taking a bath can reduce fever. Experts say that traditional Chinese medicine also has many methods for reducing fever, such as Chinese medicine bathing, which is just as effective as Western medicine and has fewer side effects. Chinese medicine bathing not only reduces fever quickly, but also eliminates headaches, muscle and joint pains throughout the body caused by high fever. It is more effective than alcohol bathing and can avoid the side effect of chills after an alcohol bath. External wind cold Main symptoms: fever and chills, headache without sweating, heavy nasal congestion, itchy nose and sneezing, clear and thin runny nose, cough with excessive sputum, sore limbs, thin white tongue coating, and floating and tight pulse. Method: You can use Schizonepeta water for bathing. Add 10g to 20g each of Schizonepeta, Notopterygium wilfordii, and Saposhnikovia divaricata, 100ml to 200ml of water, and boil for 20 minutes. For external wind-cold, you can use Nepeta water for bathing Exogenous wind-heat Main symptoms: fever, aversion to wind or slight aversion to cold, headache, nasal congestion and runny nose, cough with yellow sputum, dry mouth, red and swollen sore throat, red edges and tip of tongue, thin yellow tongue coating, and rapid pulse. Method: We can prepare 10g to 20g of mint, bupleurum, and scutellaria, then put these Chinese medicines into a pot, add 100 to 200 ml of water, boil for half an hour and then apply for bath. External sensation and dampness Main symptoms: aversion to cold, low body temperature, distension as if in a wrapped head, soreness and heaviness of limbs, mental fatigue, greasy white tongue coating, etc. Method: Use 10-20g each of Qianghuo, Duhuo and Saposhnikovia divaricata, add 100-200ml of water, boil for 20 minutes and then apply to the patient. External infection with heat stroke Main symptoms: fever, protracted sweating, irritability, thirst, chest tightness, poor appetite, short and dark urine, yellow and greasy tongue coating, etc. Method: We can use 10 to 20 grams of Elsholtzia, Forsythia, lotus leaves, and honeysuckle, put them in a pot, add 100 to 200 ml of water, boil for 20 minutes and then apply for bath. Chinese medicines such as Schizonepeta, mint, and Saposhnikovia can be bought in general pharmacies. After boiling, remove the residue and take out the water. Use cotton swabs dipped in the water to repeatedly rub the Yongquan acupoints (soles) of both feet. You can also repeatedly scrub the skin of the entire body or the superficial large blood vessels such as the sides of the neck, armpits, groin, and elbows. Rub until the skin turns red. It should be noted that the above method is only applicable to exogenous fever, not internal fever. If the patient is known to be allergic to drugs such as Schizonepeta and mint, do not apply it. When bathing, the movements should be gentle. This method should not be used for those with local skin lesions or lumps. For those with more serious conditions, it is also necessary to pay attention to comprehensive treatments such as medication to avoid delaying the condition. |
