At what age does a baby start to change teeth?

As children grow up, many parents are more concerned about the period of tooth replacement, because this period is determined by the baby's physique and there is no fixed time, but the precautions during the tooth replacement period are the same. If the baby's immunity is very low, it will also cause symptoms such as colds and fever. Therefore, parents need to pay more attention to the baby's health during this period.

The first thing to note is that before a child's teeth change, the original teeth, that is, the deciduous teeth, need to fall off before new teeth can grow. At this time, parents must pay attention to observe whether the child's deciduous teeth fall off. Sometimes, when the deciduous teeth have not fallen out completely, the new teeth will have a small tip in front of or behind the original teeth. At this time, parents should take their children to the dentistry to extract the original teeth, otherwise it will easily cause the newly grown teeth to grow crooked and unevenly arranged.

Then it should be noted that some children, after their baby teeth fall out and before new teeth grow out, will habitually use their gums to eat, or lick their gums frequently with their tongue. This will harden the gums and hinder the growth of new teeth. If the child's original teeth fall out and new teeth have not grown out for a long time, parents should take the child to the hospital to consult a doctor and remember to supplement the child with calcium. The slow growth of teeth is also related to calcium deficiency.

Children should keep their mouths clean during the period of tooth replacement and brush their teeth every day, especially when the deciduous teeth have not fallen out and the new teeth have just appeared. This is when it is most likely that there will be food residues between the two teeth. If the cleaning is not thorough, food residues will easily cause tooth decay. When the deciduous teeth are loose before they fall out, tell the children not to lick them with their tongue, as frequent licking of teeth will affect the growth of new teeth.

Note: Try to keep the deciduous teeth until the permanent teeth erupt. If the deciduous teeth are lost prematurely, there may be insufficient space for the permanent teeth to erupt, resulting in malocclusion.

What you need to pay attention to during the child's teeth replacement period is to comfort the child's emotions and tell the child not to lick his gums frequently, as this will lead to unsmooth teething. In addition, it is best to eat less hard food during the teeth replacement period, otherwise the teeth will be damaged, which is not good for the baby's tooth growth. You can also prepare ice packs at home to cool the child down.
