What should I do if my baby is bitten by mites?

The health of babies is very fragile, especially because their skin is very tender and has almost no resistance to external stimuli. For example, mites are a type of parasite that is very harmful to babies. They can easily break through the baby's skin and cause serious skin diseases. Let’s take a look at what to do if your baby is bitten by mites? I hope parents can understand this and actively prevent the harm of mites.

Mites are microscopic pests that are difficult to see with the naked eye. There are many types of mites, and more than 500,000 species have been identified. They are generally divided into several major categories, including dust mites, flour mites, sweet mites, leather mites, and chiggers. Among them, dust mites are the most widely distributed and have the greatest impact. Although only about 30-300 microns in size, dust mites are a strong allergen. The corpses, secretions and excrement of mites are all allergens. Once they enter the human respiratory tract or come into contact with the skin, symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, itchy nose, eyes and ears, coughing and asthma will occur.

Symptoms :

Once attacked by mites, babies will scratch themselves non-stop with their little hands, which will cause severe itching that is often persistent, especially at night, causing children to sleep uneasily. Many parents are eager to relieve their baby's itching, so they use toilet water, cooling oil, etc. However, instead of improving the condition, the rash becomes more and more severe, with obvious redness and swelling, large sores, and even fluid oozing out.

Solution :

The more you use toilet water, the more itchy it will become. It turns out that mite dermatitis is an inflammatory reaction, and lotions like toilet water mostly contain ingredients such as mint and camphor. Not only can they not improve the local inflammation of the baby's skin, but they will cause an allergic reaction and lead to contact dermatitis. Therefore, when parents find that their baby has been bitten by insects, they should not apply medicine on their own. It is best to treat the baby under the guidance of a doctor.

If children are sick, never let them scratch with their hands. Because there are bacteria hidden in the nails, scratching them will lead to infection. Do not blindly use floral water, wind oil, or prickly heat powder to relieve the itching of your child. This is because the skin of sick children is very sensitive. Using these products will not only have no therapeutic effect, but may also be counterproductive.

The correct approach is to go to the hospital for treatment in time, or go to a regular pharmacy to buy anti-allergic ointment, such as Eloson (suitable for children aged 1-2 years old) and Udrol (suitable for children around 10 years old) and apply it to the affected area.
