What should I do if my 16-month-old child has a fever?

What should I do if my 16-month-old child has a fever?

Newborn babies have poor resistance and are weak, so they get sick easily. Parents are troubled by how to treat them after they get sick. Using medication may harm the child's body, but using physical therapy may be ineffective. Therefore, parents are helpless and worried about their baby's fever. So how should infant fever be treated effectively? Can infant fever be treated with medication? Will it harm the child? Let me introduce it to you below.

Fever, also known as fever in medical terms. Fever supports the immune system in fighting infectious agents and prevents temperature-sensitive viruses and bacteria from replicating successfully in the body. However, infection is not the only cause of fever. For example, amphetamine abuse and alcohol withdrawal can both cause a rise in body temperature. Environmental stress can also cause heat stroke and related illnesses.

The hypothalamus, located at the base of the brain, acts as the body's thermostat. It is stimulated by mobile biochemical substances called pyrogens that travel through the bloodstream from potential lesions recognized by the immune system. Human tissues produce some pyrogens, as do many pathogens. Once the hypothalamus detects a pyrogen, it tells the body to increase metabolism to generate more heat, and reduce blood flow around it to maintain the heat, thus causing a fever. Typically, children have more severe and more frequent fevers, reflecting the effects of pathogens on untested immune systems.

Sometimes, a fever can be severe enough to affect your health. For example, a fever over 105 degrees Fahrenheit can threaten the integrity and function of important proteins. Cellular stress, infarction (heart attack), tissue necrosis, seizures, and delirium are all potential adverse consequences. If the fever is too severe to cool down the body, using a "cooling blanket" and other methods can be helpful.

The baby's body is very fragile. If they are not careful, they may be invaded by bacteria and become sick. Therefore, parents should do a good job of protecting the baby on a daily basis. They should feed their children healthy food, food that can improve their immunity, pay more attention to weather changes, keep warm, and take more careful care of their children when they are sick. This will be good for the children.
