What are the symptoms of myocarditis in children?

Children's physical health has always been a concern for all parents, because we all know that many of children's body functions are not fully developed. If we don't pay attention to them, they will be easily affected by various diseases. For example, children's myocarditis problems often occur, so parents need to pay attention to what symptoms their children will have with myocarditis.

New onset, clinical symptoms are obvious and changeable, the course of disease is usually no more than 6 months, mild symptoms, mainly fatigue, followed by sweating, pallor, palpitations, shortness of breath, chest tightness, dizziness, lack of energy, etc. Examination shows pale complexion, cyanosis around the mouth, low and dull first heart sound at the apex, soft blowing-like systolic murmur, sometimes premature contraction, medium-sized less, more rapid onset, in addition to the above symptoms, fatigue is prominent, older children often complain of precordial pain, more rapid onset may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, examination shows tachycardia or bradycardia, or arrhythmia, children are irritable, cyanosis around the mouth, cold hands and feet, cold sweat, slightly enlarged heart, dull heart sound, apex blowing-like systolic murmur.

There may be gallop rhythm and/or various arrhythmias, low blood pressure, low pulse pressure difference, enlarged liver, and some lungs have rales. Severe cases are rare, fulminant, and onset is acute. Heart failure or sudden cardiogenic shock occurs within 1 or 2 days. The children are extremely weak, dizzy, irritable, vomiting, precordial pain or pressure, some have difficulty breathing, sweating, and cold skin. Infants refuse to eat, are fussy, weak, have cold hands and feet, and have difficulty breathing. Examination shows gray complexion, cyanotic lips, cold limbs, cyanotic fingers and toes, weak or untouchable pulse, low or unmeasurable blood pressure, dull heart sounds, and the first heart sound at the apex is almost inaudible. Systolic murmurs may occur, often with gallop rhythm, tachycardia, bradycardia or severe arrhythmias, rales in the lungs, the liver may enlarge rapidly, and some develop acute left heart failure and pulmonary edema. The disease progresses rapidly and is life-threatening if not rescued in time.

After we know these symptoms, we can find out in time whether our children are affected by myocarditis. We also hope that every parent will pay more attention to their children in the process of taking care of them. If they find that their children have some abnormal problems, they should take them to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.
