How to reduce children’s fever physically?

In winter, babies often have high fevers and need special care. If the baby does not receive effective care, it can cause harm to the body and even affect the brain in severe cases. How to deal with the situation of baby's fever? In order to avoid the side effects of drugs, many mothers will use physical cooling methods, but do not misuse them, otherwise it will aggravate the condition and affect the baby. What is the correct physical method to reduce fever?

1. Place an ice pack or a plastic bag filled with ice on the baby's forehead. When the ice melts, it absorbs the body's heat to achieve the purpose of cooling down. You can also apply a cold towel to your baby's forehead. The method is to fold the towel horizontally into six to eight long strips, soak it in cold water, then squeeze the water on both ends of the towel, place it flat on the baby's forehead, and turn it over and replace it regularly.

2. Use warm water or 30% alcohol to wipe the baby's limbs, especially repeatedly wipe the areas on the inside of the limbs that are rich in blood vessels, so that the heat in the body can be removed through the evaporation of water or alcohol.

3. Add appropriate amount of hot water in the basin so that the water covers the back of the baby's feet. The water temperature should be tolerable for the baby. Add appropriate amount of hot water every few minutes and gradually increase the temperature as the baby adapts to the temperature. After about half an hour, sweat will appear on the baby's forehead, chest and back. Each gram of sweat evaporating time can take away 0.8 kilocalories of heat, and the patient's body temperature will drop accordingly.

4. Let your baby drink an appropriate amount of hot water. If your baby has a cold and fever, you can boil some sugar ginger water for your baby in winter to promote sweating and reduce temperature. This is also a simple and effective physical cooling method.
