Why doesn’t my baby sleep well at night?

For some young people who have just become parents, they have no experience in taking care of babies and become particularly scared and frightened whenever their babies cry. Especially at night when the baby should be sleeping but keeps crying and can't sleep well, this situation often leaves young parents helpless. In fact, if you want to know how to treat this symptom of your child, you should first explore the causes of his disease.

Environmental factors: including sleeping in a noisy or hot place, or wearing too many or too few clothes. The most common problem is over-clothing and wrapping babies in too many clothes and blankets, especially in the first few months after birth. Adults always think that babies are easy to catch cold, so they dress them more and wrap them tightly. In fact, "babies have three fires in their buttocks". Their metabolic rate is higher than that of adults, and they are afraid of heat, so wrapping babies in too many clothes and blankets will make them hot and restless, and they will not sleep well. The solution is very simple. In principle, the number of clothes a baby needs "indoors" is the same as that of an adult, and they can just cover themselves with a blanket or thin quilt when sleeping.

Baby's stomach discomfort: Babies of any age may have trouble sleeping due to bloating, stool accumulation, or simple infant colic. The treatment methods are nothing more than massaging the baby's stomach with peppermint oil, or using a rectal thermometer to measure the rectal temperature to stimulate the anus to defecate. If the above methods cannot solve the baby's crying or restless sleep, it is necessary to take the baby to a pediatrician for examination to find out the cause.

Baby infection: Common infections include colds, otitis media, pharyngitis, bronchiolitis, pneumonia, and gastroenteritis. Rare infections include meningitis and sepsis, all of which may cause babies to sleep restlessly. Some infections are accompanied by fever, and each infection often has its own special manifestations, so when it is accompanied by restless sleep, parents often seek medical help, although the causes of restless sleep caused by each infection are different.

When a baby cries at night, it may be caused by many reasons, so parents should not panic too much, because the baby's crying is not entirely caused by illness. For some non-disease reasons, parents should avoid these situations in time. At the same time, they can also learn methods and tips for feeding babies from experienced people.
