What to do if your baby has a picky eater

What to do if your baby has a picky eater

Many parents are troubled by their baby's picky eating habits, but they are often helpless in what to do. Because most families nowadays have only one child, many parents are busy with work, so the children are taken care of by their grandparents. The elders love the children very much and will try their best to satisfy the children's preferences for food. Over time, the children develop a habit of picky eating. This is very detrimental to the child's growth.

Changing the way your baby cooks the food he hates is a good way to get it into his stomach secretly. For example, if the baby hates eating eggs, the mother can cook eggs in different ways, such as making them into boiled eggs, steamed egg custard, egg fried rice, egg skin fish rolls, tomato and egg... If the baby doesn’t like to eat vegetables, you can chop the vegetables and wrap them in pasta, because most babies like to eat stuffed food. In short, mothers should pay attention to the color, aroma, taste and shape of food, and use these to stimulate the baby's enthusiasm for food.

As soon as the baby sits at the table and faces multiple dishes, the mother should not ask him which dish he wants to eat. If handled in this way, he will naturally only eat the dishes he likes and will not touch other dishes. It’s better to ask him this way: Should you eat spinach first or radish first? Such questions will give him a hint that spinach, radish and other vegetables should all be eaten, but it's just a matter of order. Mothers can also introduce these foods to their babies through storytelling. For example, if your baby doesn’t like to eat carrots, then tell the story of a little rabbit eating carrots and encourage your baby to imitate the little rabbit and take a bite of carrots. Of course, don't force him to eat a lot at once, as long as he tries it, it's good. After trying more, he will slowly adapt to the unfamiliar taste and gain more pleasant experiences from it. He will gradually change his picky eating habits from not liking it.

If you want your baby to grow and develop healthily, a reasonable and nutritious diet is essential. Parents should put more effort into their children's diet, and make sure it is balanced in coarse, fine, solid and vegetarian foods. Parents should not force their children to eat foods they don't like, but should start by adding small amounts to the food they eat, so that they can get familiar with the food.
