In daily life, children are prone to various diseases due to their low body resistance, and pharyngitis and tonsillitis are a common disease. This disease is more common in children, especially in the dry autumn and winter seasons. The symptoms of this disease are congestion in the throat and sore throat. So children always feel sore throat when they are sick. Today we will give a brief introduction to pharyngitis and tonsillitis in children. Tonsils are located deep in the human mouth, on the side wall of the pharyngeal isthmus between the palatoglossal arch and the palatal pharyngeal arch. They are commonly known as tonsils. They develop in childhood and gradually shrink in adulthood. Because tonsils are located at the strategic point of the throat and have close contact with the outside world, and the temperature and humidity inside the tonsils are very suitable for bacterial reproduction, when the body's resistance is reduced, it is easy to be attacked by bacteria and become inflamed. Tonsillitis generally presents with symptoms such as fever and sore throat, and can be divided into two types: congestive and purulent. Congestive cases are mainly caused by viral infections, while purulent cases are mainly caused by hemolytic streptococcal infections. Children have weaker immune functions, and after each acute attack of tonsillitis, there is often an interval of about 2 weeks. Therefore, children aged 4-6 may have tonsillitis several times a year. It can also cause infection of adjacent organs and lead to rhinitis and sinusitis, otitis media, laryngitis, bronchitis, etc., and the attacks are prone to recurrence and protracted. As you age, your immune function improves and the frequency of tonsillitis decreases. Tonsils are immune organs and are "useful". Therefore, even if children often have tonsillitis, surgical removal is generally not required unless it is absolutely necessary. Children under 6 years old should be particularly cautious. Only when tonsillitis recurs and forms lesions, causing rheumatic fever, nephritis, arthritis, heart disease, or excessive hypertrophy affecting breathing, swallowing, and voice, should you consider choosing an appropriate time to remove the tonsils. If children suffer from pharyngitis and tonsillitis, they should pay attention to rest, let them go to bed early and get enough sleep at night; pay attention to diet, drink enough water, eat more vegetables and fruits, avoid spicy and greasy foods (such as fish, shrimp, chicken, barbecue, chili, beverages, cold drinks, etc.); add or remove clothes and quilts as the weather changes to prevent colds and tonsillitis. You can use 3-6 grams of honeysuckle, 3-6 grams of green fruit, 3-6 grams of chrysanthemum, and 3-6 grams of raw licorice as tea and drink it with boiling water. Through the above introduction, we have given a brief introduction to pharyngitis and tonsillitis in children. By understanding pharyngitis and tonsillitis, we parents will not feel at a loss when our children suffer from pharyngitis and tonsillitis. Through the above understanding, parents should be careful not to perform tonsillectomy on their children easily, otherwise it will affect their children's immune ability. |
