Skin diseases are relatively common in our lives, among which vitiligo is the most confusing, because it not only seriously affects one's own image but is also very difficult to cure. However, in our lives there are always many children who are particularly prone to vitiligo due to their relatively long body resistance and blindly taking medicines when they have physical problems. However, if you can master the symptoms, you can detect and treat them in time. Let's take a look at the early symptoms of vitiligo in children. What are the early symptoms of vitiligo in children In the early stage, the white spots are mostly the size of a fingernail to a coin, nearly round, oval or irregular in shape. Some of them appear as dot-like hypochromic spots with obvious boundaries; some have edges surrounded by pigmented bands. In a few cases, the white spots are mixed with follicular pigment proliferation, which can increase, expand and merge into islands. Except for the loss of pigmentation, there is no atrophy or desquamation in the affected areas. The hair on the white spots can lose pigment and even turn completely white, and some hairs remain unchanged for a long time. The number of white spots is variable and may be limited to a certain part of the body or distributed in a certain nerve segment (or dermatome). It is very rare for white spots to disappear on their own. In most cases, the white spots tend to gradually increase and expand. Adjacent white spots may merge into large irregular patches, spreading all over the body like a map. Sometimes normal skin remains among the white spots, so that they are mistaken for pigmentation. For example, when they occur on the face, they are often mistaken for chloasma. Some newly developed white spots have a slightly raised inflammatory dark red edge, which can last for several weeks. This early change often lacks conscious symptoms and is therefore easy to ignore. Early white spots with blurred borders and no pigmentation are sometimes difficult to identify in time. The degree of depigmentation varies from person to person and from part of the body to part of the body. Even in the same part, different tones may appear due to different degrees of depigmentation. There may be as many as three tones, namely, white, grayish white, and nearly normal skin color from the inside out. Some turn completely white, with the surrounding skin slightly red (because the blood vessels in the papillary dermis are visible) or grayish white. These manifestations can roughly help observe the production of melanin and the degree of its reduction. The above is an introduction to the early symptoms of vitiligo in children. Only by mastering more of this common sense in daily life can we discover and treat problems in our baby's body in time. When a baby develops daytime shift, parents must take good care of the baby and help the baby overcome psychological barriers. The baby should pay attention to a balanced diet and avoid sun exposure. |
