What to do if your baby has lip ulcers

Ulcers are a common disease among many people. They refer to small-scale erosions in the patient's mouth due to improper diet or inflammation. They can usually be cured by a regular diet. Many babies also have similar ulcer conditions in their mouths. What causes this? What should we do if babies have lip ulcers? As first-time parents, it is very necessary to know more about diseases.

1. Hand, foot and mouth disease

This disease also has symptoms similar to herpetic stomatitis, and is common in children under 5 years old and is epidemic. After the disease occurs, oral lesions spread across the lips, cheeks, tongue, palate, etc. There are many small blisters that are very easy to rupture, forming multiple small ulcers after rupture. In addition to the oral area, scattered small blisters may also appear on the palms, soles, and buttocks skin, so it is called hand, foot and mouth disease.

2. Mouth ulcers

It is relatively common, but the causes vary. Some are caused by subtle wounds on the oral mucosa, some are caused by excessive pressure, and some are caused by lack of vitamin B in food. Initially, the oral mucosa will feel a burning sensation, followed by redness and the formation of many small ulcers, which are quite painful. Common sites are the lingual mucosa, floor of mouth and tongue.

3. Trauma

Any burns, puncture wounds, accidental ingestion of corrosive substances, etc. can cause injury to the oral mucosa and subsequently cause ulcers.

4. Drug allergy

Babies with special physical conditions may develop the so-called "erythema multiforme" due to unknown reasons such as drugs or infections. At this time, the baby will have target-shaped erythema on the body, and the eyes, lips, mouth, and reproductive and urinary tract will become inflamed and ulcerated.

After reading the above points, you should know what to do if your baby has lip ulcers. There are many reasons that lead to oral ulcers in babies, and the treatments for different diseases are different, so parents must learn to distinguish them correctly. Only by finding the cause can they prescribe the right medicine and find the treatment method as quickly as possible.
