Today, I will introduce to you several methods to treat children's cough.

Chinese medicine massage therapy for children's cough

If the baby only has coughing symptoms at the beginning of a cold, it may be difficult to give medicine. Mom may wish to use Chinese medicine massage techniques to assist in the treatment of the baby. Massage techniques can save babies from the pain of taking medicine and injections, and sometimes have unexpected effects on eliminating coughs. Mommy, come and try it!

1. Wind-heat cough

Babies often have symptoms such as red face and ears, dry and red lips, frequent coughing, sharp cough, runny nose, fever and sweating, red tongue, and yellow and greasy tongue coating.

Massage points: clearing away heat and relieving exterior symptoms, dispersing wind and dissipating heat, relieving cough and reducing phlegm.

Massage method:

Push Tianmen acupoint 24 times;

From the middle of the two eyebrows to the front hairline, form a straight line;

Rub the temples in reverse direction (rub the temples counterclockwise, the temples are located in the depression between the end of the eyebrows and the outer corners of the eyes) 20 times; rub the lung points (on the left and right points below the spinous process of the third thoracic vertebra) 50 times.

2. Cold and cough

The baby has a clear history of colds, with symptoms such as pale complexion, chills, fear of cold without sweating, bouts of coughing, heavy cough, and clear and thin sputum. White foamy sputum can cause nasal congestion and difficulty breathing, accompanied by clear nasal discharge; some babies may also have fever, pale red lips, and white tongue coating.

Massage points: dispel wind and cold, open the pores and induce sweating, promote lung function and lower qi, resolve phlegm and relieve cough.

Massage method:

Push Kan Gong 50 times (above the two eyebrows on the face, forming a straight line from the eyebrows to the eyebrows);

Push Tianmen 20 times; push Tanzhong, the line connecting the two nipples on the chest, 20-50 times.

3. Yin deficiency and dry cough

It is more common in babies who are usually weak and sick or who do not receive timely treatment. The cough often lasts for a long time and does not heal for a long time. The cough is low, the breath is short and weak, the patient is mentally tired and likes to lie down, the lips are pale, and the hands and feet are hot.

Massage points: replenish qi and nourish the lungs, strengthen the lungs and relieve cough, replenish the kidneys and absorb qi, strengthen the foundation and improve physical fitness.

Massage method:

Rub the lung point (the horizontal line of the first knuckle of the index finger) 30-50 times;

Push spleen and earth 50 times;

Move the inner Bagua points clockwise (rub the inner Bagua points in a clockwise direction. The inner Bagua points are on the palm. Draw a circle with the palm as the center and the radius about 2/3 of the horizontal line at the root of the middle finger).

4. Phlegm and dampness blocking the body

It is often seen in babies who have been ill for a long time or obese babies who like to eat fatty and sweet food. They often cough frequently, have a lot of sputum, phlegm in the throat, clear and thin sputum or foamy sputum, accompanied by a pale tongue, a greasy white tongue coating, loss of appetite and other discomforts.

Massage points: Strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness, promote lung function and relieve cough, benefit the spleen and invigorate function, and resolve phlegm and relieve cough.

Massage method:

Push the four horizontal lines 3-5 times (the horizontal lines of the index, middle, ring finger and little finger joints on the palm);

Rub Zusanli 100 times (below the patella of the knee joint, four horizontal fingers directly below the outer knee pit).

As you can see from the dozen or so methods of traditional Chinese medicine mentioned above, they are not just about asking you to buy some medicine, but about using massage methods that we can learn ourselves to treat diseases, massaging different organs according to different diseases. However, during the massage process, you must pay attention to the strength of your fingers and the child's reaction. This massage method also depends on the individual. If it still doesn't work, you can take your child to the hospital for examination.
