What to do if your 8-month-old baby can't crawl

Nowadays, due to environmental restrictions, many babies skip crawling before they have the experience of crawling. Some babies cannot crawl but can walk. In fact, this is very bad for children. Many parents are worried that the floor is too dirty and are unwilling to let their children crawl on the ground. They usually put their babies on the bed, which is spoiling for the baby. So what should we do if the baby still can't crawl when he is eight months old?

In fact, babies are most interested in playing games, so why not start with this and let your baby learn to crawl -

Game 1: Sit and Catch

If your baby sits there and refuses to move, you need to be patient and guide him to turn into a prone position. First, place a toy that the baby likes not far from his body. The baby can grab the toy by leaning forward from a sitting position to a prone position. Although this cannot be considered crawling, it is a prelude to crawling. Before learning to crawl, if the baby likes to lie on the bed and make the preparatory movements before crawling, it can be considered a victory. At the beginning, you can put the toy not far in front of the baby. Later, you can put it on the left, right, or even behind his body. As long as the baby turns his head and sees it, he can bend down to get it. Of course, toys should be changed frequently to prevent the baby from losing interest in them.

Game 2: Power Up Action

When babies learn to crawl, the most difficult problem for them is how to coordinate the movements of their limbs. They often can take care of their hands but not their feet. At this time, parents can stand behind the baby, put both palms on the soles of the baby's feet, push one of the baby's feet, and when he crawls up a little, push his other foot. This way, help him through the crawling stage.

Game 3: Cave

If you have empty cardboard boxes from refrigerators and washing machines at home, you can reuse them and make crawling toys for your baby. Cut off the lid and bottom at both ends of the carton to make the carton into a square tube. Place the cardboard box horizontally on the ground, put the baby on one end of the box, and then the mother goes to the other side, looks at the baby from the cardboard box, and encourages him to crawl into the "cave" and crawl to the mother's side. When modifying the cardboard box, be sure to tape the edges of the paper together, as the edges may scratch the baby's delicate skin.

Game 4: Temptation of Color

Babies like bright colors. When there are brightly colored things, they will look at them intently and want to grab them. At this time, let the baby sit aside, and the parents take a colorful toy and call the baby's name to attract his attention. When the baby bends down and crawls over, the parents step back. After the baby crawls three or four times, the parents let the baby grab the object, praise the baby for doing a good job, and kiss the baby.

Game 5: Follow the sound

Sound can also attract your baby's attention. Rattles and small toys with electronic music are all attractive to babies. Shake the toy not far from the baby's body to make it make pleasant sounds. The baby will be attracted by the music and try to come over, and crawling is the only way he can use. Be careful not to be too far away from your baby, as this may distract him or her from the sound.

Game 6: Crawling Competition

Some babies can't crawl, probably because they don't know how to do it. Babies have a strong ability to imitate. At this time, you can find a child who can crawl for the baby to play with. Put the two babies together and encourage them to crawl. When the baby sees the other child crawling, he will imitate and learn to crawl quickly. To increase the fun, parents can deliberately design a competition, tease them in front, and encourage the two babies to crawl towards the goal together.

Isn't it great to let the baby learn to crawl in happiness? When the baby is crawling, parents should give the child confidence. For example, when the baby is crawling, parents can say "come here, baby" or "come on, baby" etc. In this way, the child can understand. If the children are communicated with for a long time, the happy mood of the parents will be recorded in the children's eyes. In this way, the children will have confidence and crawl farther.
