What should we do if children have cervical problems?

Nowadays, children's diseases occur very frequently. Most young parents have no life experience and find it difficult to deal with sudden incidents of children's diseases correctly. Today, I would like to analyze with you what emergency measures our young parents should take if a child has a problem with his cervical spine. I hope this explanation can attract everyone's attention.

1. The child lies on his back with a low pillow. His mother sits on the bedside, supports the pillow of his head with one hand, and pinches the back of his neck with the other hand, from bottom to top to the pillow, repeatedly 3 to 5 times; then changes hands to support the pillow, and pinches 3 to 5 times again.

2. Hold the child's head with both hands (one hand on the occipital region and the other hand on the mandible), lift the head, slightly lift the back off the bed, gently shake it 2 to 3 times, then lower it, change hands to hold the head (the hand that originally supported the mandible supports the occipital region instead), repeat the above movements, and repeat the traction 4 times in total.

3. The child lies prone on the pillow with his head hanging outside the bed. The mother holds his head and asks the child to move his head and neck, turning left 3 times, turning right 3 times, swinging left 3 times, swinging right 3 times, raising his head backward 3 times, and lowering his head 3 times. His mother uses her hands to help him correct the inadequate movements. Finally, when the head hangs down, help him to apply a little force downward.

4. Lie on your back and lift your legs quickly and then lower them slowly, practice 20-30 times.

Some people ask, cervical spondylosis is a disease of the elderly, why do children also suffer from cervical spondylosis? In fact, cervical spondylosis is mostly caused by intervertebral disc degeneration and bone hyperplasia in the elderly, while adolescents may suffer from cervical joint dislocation due to trauma, poor posture (such as prone sleeping habits), weak constitution, and heavy school bags, causing dizziness, headache, pseudomyopia, restless sleep, drowsiness in class, frequent hiccups, loss of appetite and other symptoms. Even newborns may suffer from spasmodic torticollis, poor intelligence and other diseases due to birth injuries. The anatomy and physiology of the cervical spine are very complex.

I don’t know if through this analysis, my friends should have mastered some necessary common sense about the problem of children’s cervical spine after reading the more detailed and scientific explanation I provided. I hope that after today’s understanding, everyone can pay more attention to the occurrence of many emergencies in life. Only by staying calm in times of danger can we ensure the safety of our children.
