How to treat children with ADHD?

Children are active and lively, so they never have a moment of quietness. However, if your child cannot be quiet for a moment, is always inattentive, does not like to study, has a bad temper, and is always angry, then you should pay attention to check whether your child has ADHD. If it is ADHD, you should pay attention to active treatment to avoid affecting the child's life.

1. Drug treatment

Common medications used to treat ADHD include methylprednisolone hydrochloride (Ritalin) and dextroamphetamine sulfate. The exact effectiveness of these drugs in reducing ADHD symptoms is still unknown, but researchers believe they can regulate dopamine and norepinephrine levels, allowing children to focus and reduce impulsivity.

2. Psychotherapy

The consultation between parents and teachers enables them to understand the characteristics of children's growth and development and the characteristics of psychological development at different age stages. Discipline should be timely, fair, patient and confident. Children should not be placed under harsh demands, and practical plans should be put forward for children of different age groups to provide specific counseling and help.

3. Environmental treatment

Eliminate negative stimuli or mental stress factors that cause ADHD in the family, and do not quarrel in front of children. A bad relationship between parents is also one of the causes of ADHD. A good family atmosphere can also prevent children from being restless, anxious, nervous and excited.

4. Doctor’s treatment

Doctors often assume that attention deficit hyperactivity disorder outgrows children's attention deficit disorder, but the reality is that the effects of ADHD extend far beyond childhood. Recent studies have found that 40-80% of children with ADHD still have various symptoms after entering puberty, and 50% will continue to develop into adulthood.

The above four methods are common methods for treating children with ADHD. If there are children with ADHD at home, it is important to pay attention to early treatment so that they can recover one day earlier. During treatment, parents should actively cooperate with doctors and allow their children to receive treatment in a relatively relaxed and warm environment, so that recovery should be faster.
