What should I do if my 7-month-old baby’s head is a little crooked?

For mothers, the most important thing in daily life is the baby's health. If they suddenly find that the baby has physical abnormalities, the anxiety is simply unbearable in words. If the baby is seven months old, it can basically be said that the mother has endured it all and can finally breathe a sigh of relief and not be so tired. So, some seven-month-old babies have head tilt. What should we do?

If your baby's head is tilted to one side, it may be torticollis or caused by an improper sleeping posture. Torticollis, commonly known as "crooked neck", is a common surgical disease in babies. You can take some things that your baby likes, or music, toys, lights, etc., and place them in the opposite direction of your baby's head tilt. Let your baby turn his head to the other side for a long time, and this will correct it over time. There are two types of torticollis in babies. One is bony torticollis, which requires surgical treatment and massage has no effect. If it is muscular torticollis, it can be treated through massage. You can go to the pediatric massage department of the hospital. The cost is slightly higher, but the effect is better. In daily life, it is necessary to let the baby maintain the correct sleeping posture to prevent the aggravation of torticollis.

Torticollis, commonly known as "crooked neck", is a common surgical disease in babies. It usually occurs in young children and has four symptoms: the head tilts to one side with the chin toward the opposite shoulder; a lump appears on the neck; the left and right sides of the face are asymmetrical in size; and the neck movement is restricted. These symptoms may be present at birth or may develop gradually later in life. Some symptoms may disappear on their own without treatment. Observe the development of your baby's head and face, and palpate his neck.

If there are obvious lumps or muscle fibrosis on the neck, the diagnosis can be confirmed. If there are no such symptoms, it may not be torticollis, but it may be caused by the baby's long-term sleeping posture, which can be corrected slowly. If you are worried, you can go to the hospital for X-ray, ultrasound, etc.
