Is excessive exercise good for children?

Nowadays, many parents pay great attention to their children's physical development. They enroll their children in many classes for training. Some parents simply let their children learn sports. However, the amount of exercise many children do every day exceeds their physical capacity, which makes parents feel a little worried. So, is it good for children to exercise too much? This is not good, and the following knowledge needs to be noted.

Children should control the time and intensity of exercise

When guiding children and teenagers in exercise, we should base it on their physical development characteristics and pay attention to not letting the exercise time be too long or the intensity be too high, and it should not exceed the children's physical load capacity. The respiratory muscles of children and adolescents are weakly developed and their lung capacity is small. During physical activities, they mainly rely on accelerating the breathing rate to increase lung ventilation. In addition, their neural regulation function is not yet fully developed. During exercise, their breathing movements and exercise movements cannot be well coordinated. Therefore, when arranging training for children and teenagers, it is necessary to control the time and intensity of exercise.

For children, participating in sports should ensure adequate rest and sleep, and have sufficient nutrition and energy; do not require children to achieve results in sports too early or too hastily, nor should they be allowed to participate in too many formal competitions; the size and weight of sports equipment used in children's sports should be in line with their physical development characteristics. It is particularly important to emphasize that the content and form of children's exercise activities should be diversified and changed frequently. Only a variety of exercise forms can enable the balanced development of children's organs, improve flexibility and enhance physical fitness.

For infants aged 0 to 2 years old, it is still difficult for them to perform complex sports. They can choose free activities, but they must ensure safety. For toddlers aged 3 to 5 years old, they should avoid competitions, teach through language and demonstration, and emphasize the fun of the activities. Sports activities include walking, running, swimming, tumbling, throwing, etc. For children aged 6 to 9, there should be as few competitions as possible, and the principle of flexible exercise should be adhered to, with emphasis on basic skills and the explanation time should not be too long. Sports include walking, running, jumping, gymnastics, ball games, etc. For children aged 10 to 12, there should not be too many competitions, and basic skills should also be emphasized. The intensity of exercise should be reduced during adolescence. Sports include various ball games. Regardless of their age, we must strengthen safety protection for children to ensure that they can exercise, enjoy their body and mind, and grow up healthily in a safe and happy environment.

Is it good for children to exercise too much? Children of every age have their physical limits, and too much exercise is not good for their healthy growth. Therefore, when it comes to children's sports, we need to pay more attention to scientific principles and do a good job in safety protection to ensure that children grow up healthily and happily. Therefore, the length and intensity of children's exercise time need to be controlled.
