What are the symptoms of rheumatic heart disease in children?

Rheumatic heart disease is a very common disease, and it is also a disease with a high incidence rate. The elderly and children are prone to the disease, especially some elderly people. When they are older, the chance of suffering from the disease is even greater. Children are also prone to rheumatic heart disease. The onset of this rheumatic heart disease is also very sudden. If it occurs suddenly, the child will suddenly faint on the ground. Let's take a look at the symptoms of rheumatic heart disease in children.

1. Heart murmur: A significant heart murmur is the most important feature of carditis, most of which is caused by mitral valve and aortic valve lesions. In children, 90% suffer from mitral valve disease, less than 10% suffer from aortic valve damage, and more than half suffer from combined mitral and aortic valve disease.

2. Changes in heart sounds and heart rate: The first heart sound becomes low and dull, which may be related to carditis and prolonged atrioventricular conduction time. The valve is in a higher position before closing and has almost closed. The diastolic gallop rhythm is often heard. An increase in heart rate that is often out of proportion to the increase in body temperature and that does not slow during sleep. Even long after the carditis has been controlled, the heart rate remains high.

3. Enlarged heart: A physical examination reveals that the apex beat exceeds the mid-clavicular line, or there is an obvious heart beat under the xiphoid process, indicating an enlarged heart. The shape of a child's heart changes greatly, especially during exhalation and inhalation.

4. Pericarditis: Pericardial friction sound can be heard. When there is a large amount of effusion, there may be paradoxical pulse, distended neck veins, small pulse pressure difference, distant heart sounds, enlarged heart, and weakened or disappeared heart beats on chest X-ray.

5. Electrocardiogram: Although prolonged P-R interval can be caused by a variety of diseases, most of them are caused by rheumatism. This feature is still considered one of the indicators for diagnosing rheumatism. The prolongation of the PR interval has no effect on the prognosis of rheumatic disease and can return to normal.

The mitral valve is a door on the passage between the left atrium and the left ventricle. Because it has two door plates (flaps), it is named the mitral valve. Its task is to open and close on time as needed: when the blood in the left atrium is about to enter the left ventricle, the door opens; when the left ventricle contracts and squeezes the blood into the aorta, the door closes to prevent blood from flowing back into the atrium.

Rheumatic valvular heart disease, also known as rheumatic heart disease, is a chronic heart valve disease caused by rheumatic fever. Rheumatic fever is related to hemolytic streptococcal infection and is an allergic reaction and autoimmune response of the body to hemolytic streptococcus. Rheumatic heart disease is one of the symptoms of rheumatic disease. The best treatment for atrial fibrillation

Rheumatic heart disease can cause many harms to children's bodies, so if you know similar symptoms, you should observe your child's body. If your child also has these symptoms, you should give your child symptomatic treatment in time. Children's rheumatic heart disease also requires timely surgical treatment. Surgical treatment of a heart can last for more than ten years, but a second operation may be required more than ten years later. Remember to take good care of your child's heart during this period.
