What are the treatments for complications of myocardial infarction?

In the past, due to the immaturity of diagnostic technology and treatment methods, the occurrence of myocardial infarction undoubtedly frightened patients, and some even lost confidence in life. The reason why they are so afraid of the disease is mainly due to the complexity of the disease itself and its serious complications. Even if myocardial infarction is well treated, the consequences will still be serious if the treatment of its complications is ignored.

Common complications of myocardial infarction include shock, heart failure, ventricular aneurysm, heart rupture, and acute pericarditis. Treatment includes the following aspects:

Cardiogenic shock: ⑴ General treatment and monitoring: oxygen inhalation, keeping warm, paying close attention to changes in blood pressure, urine volume, central venous pressure, pulmonary "capillary" pressure and cardiac output, and adjusting treatment measures at any time; ⑵ Replenish blood volume; ⑶ Use vasoconstrictors; ⑷ Use vasodilators; ⑸ Use cardiac glycosides and corticosteroids; ⑹ Correct acidosis and electrolyte disorders, avoid cerebral ischemia and protect renal function; ⑺ Assisted circulation and surgical operations.

It is mainly used to treat acute left heart failure, mainly using morphine or pethidine and diuretics. Vasodilators or dobutamine can also be used for treatment. Digitalis drugs should only be used in patients with mild heart failure, and their use should be avoided as much as possible within 24 hours after a heart attack. Diuretics should be used with caution in patients with right ventricular infarction.

Treatment of other complications: When complicated by embolism, use thrombolytic or anticoagulant therapy. Post-myocardial infarction syndrome can be treated with glucocorticoids, aspirin, indomethacin, etc., and shoulder-hand syndrome can be treated with physical therapy or body therapy. If there is concurrent ventricular septal perforation, acute mitral regurgitation or ventricular aneurysm, surgical treatment should be actively adopted.

In the case of myocardial infarction, it is necessary not only to treat the disease, but also to pay attention to whether any complications occur in the process. In many cases, improper handling of complications will most likely result in the patient's death. This is something that no patient wants to happen. Therefore, the prevention and treatment of complications is of vital importance.
