What can children eat to treat constipation?

If the child does not eat properly during his/her growth, he/she may suffer from constipation. When the child is constipated, defecation is very painful and the stool is very dry. The child also often has anal stinging during defecation. Some children also have anal inflammation or abscesses due to constipation. After such a phenomenon occurs, the child is very painful. So what can be eaten to treat children's constipation?

Feed your baby scientifically and add complementary foods correctly. It is a good way to prevent constipation in the baby's body. However, what should the baby eat when he is constipated? It is still necessary to do more food testing when the baby accepts new food to avoid severe constipation in the baby. Therefore, parents must follow the principle of from one to multiple, from less to more when adding complementary foods to the baby. Take baby nutritional rice cereal as an example, for babies aged 3-4 months. At the beginning, 1-2 tablespoons are enough, and then increase to 4-5 tablespoons after 2 weeks. In addition, when preparing rice noodles, you should also pay attention to the ratio of rice noodles to water to avoid dry stools for your baby. For babies aged 4 to 5 months, feeding them appropriate amounts of fiber-containing foods such as vegetable puree and fruit puree can prevent constipation. Older babies can add some laxative foods, such as orange juice, honey syrup, etc. They should also eat more fruits and vegetables rich in fiber, such as celery, leeks, and porridge.

If the baby is breastfed, constipation caused by insufficient breast milk will often result in failure to gain weight, crying after eating, etc. For this type of constipation, the symptoms of constipation will be relieved as long as the amount of milk is increased.

Babies who are fed with milk are more prone to constipation, mostly because the casein content in milk is too high, which makes the stool dry and hard. In this case, you can reduce the amount of milk and increase the amount of sugar, that is, increase the sugar content of milk from the original 5-8% to 10-12%, and increase the amount of juice appropriately. For babies under 3-4 months old, you can add some milk cake to the milk. Because the carbohydrates in the milk cake can stimulate intestinal peristalsis and help defecation after being partially fermented in the intestines.

Children are in a period of rapid growth and development, and their bodies are more likely to produce internal heat. Some children are picky eaters, so they are prone to constipation. Children with constipation need to adjust their diet and eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. For fruits, they should eat more bananas, pears, watermelons, peaches, etc., and for vegetables, they should eat more green vegetables such as spinach, rapeseed, cabbage, water spinach, celery, etc. Eat more foods rich in crude fiber, such as whole grains, corn, barley, and nuts. Then, you should give your child more water on a regular basis. You can add some honey water, which is very effective in moisturizing the intestines.

When children are young, if their diet is slightly improper, it will cause constipation. Therefore, our parents must give their children a reasonable diet during their growth and be patient with their children's food intake. Avoid giving children some difficult to digest and very greasy foods. These foods are very ineffective in improving children's constipation. Give children more water.
