What to do if children's phimosis is too long

Phimosis in children is very common clinically. This condition has a certain possibility of self-healing. Many parents do not know what to do if their children have phimosis. Generally speaking, if the situation is not serious, surgical treatment is not necessary. In severe cases, circumcision can be performed.

1. Treatment method 1: When there is no adhesion, surgical treatment after local anesthesia can be used to expand the foreskin opening artificially or with inflation. Second, circumcision should be performed when there is adhesion, especially when the adhesion is severe.

2. Clinical investigations have shown that the incidence of penile cancer in those who undergo circumcision before the age of 20 is not significantly different from that in those with normal foreskin. In addition, the foreskin opening of congenital phimosis will gradually expand due to constant traction within 3 to 4 years after the child is born, so it is not advisable to choose surgery too early. It can be seen from this that in order to effectively treat phimosis, especially to prevent the occurrence of penile cancer, pediatric circumcision should be performed before pathological changes reach the entire dermis and the cell structure has not changed, that is, when the child is 6-14 years old.

3. If a child has phimosis that is too long, parents must pay attention to maintaining the hygiene of the penis and frequently clean the dirt accumulated in the foreskin of the glans. If the foreskin opening is inflamed (red, swollen), you can first use anti-inflammatory drugs or hot compresses. If the urination condition improves after the inflammation subsides, surgical treatment can be temporarily avoided. If you still feel difficulty in urination or foreskin incarceration occurs, you should go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

4. Circumcision is a very minor operation. Now this operation is also very mature and patients recover very quickly. After the operation, the glans penis can be kept in the foreskin for a long time, making male reproduction healthier and avoiding many negative effects and negative questions.
