The reason why the baby has a fever and white tongue coating

Since babies are just born, they are underdeveloped and have very poor resistance, so they are easily attacked by viruses. Fever and cough are also common. Every mother will encounter this. Some babies even have white tongue coating, which really scares every mother. Due to the lack of knowledge about some medical and physical conditions, every mother is at a loss as to what to do when the baby has a fever and white tongue coating. Then, every mother should carefully look at the following summary and common solutions to the symptom of baby's fever and white tongue coating, hoping to help every mother better deal with the baby's health.

Non-disease factors: The baby's body temperature is easily affected by the external environment: high temperature (heatstroke), wearing too many clothes, insufficient water intake, water loss (sweating, diarrhea), poor ventilation in the room, before and after strenuous exercise, the effects of certain special drugs, and other factors such as preventive injections may also cause fever. If the body temperature becomes unstable, the possibility of illness should be considered. The most common ones are colds, otitis media, and urinary tract infections. Otitis media is usually caused by bacteria or viruses from a cold infecting the middle ear through the Eustachian tube. Except for severe otitis media where pus can be seen flowing into the ear, most abnormalities cannot be seen from the outside.

A fever is a warning sign that something in your body is sick. Analyzing the pattern of fever can help diagnose the cause, while simply reducing fever can be misleading. In addition, fever itself can help kill bacteria and enhance immunity, so there is no need to rush to reduce a fever that is not too high. However, most doctors favor moderate fever reduction. Because fever increases metabolism and causes internal consumption, patients will suffer from headaches, fatigue, and accelerated heartbeat. Infants and young children are prone to dehydration, and fever causes water evaporation, which is a vicious cycle. The incidence of febrile convulsions in infants and young children is relatively high, so it is unnecessary to allow fever to cause harm.

1. Cold compress method: This method is simple and easy. Apply a cold towel to the forehead. After the towel becomes hot, soak it in cold water and apply it again. Using a cold water bag or ice pack is more effective than applying a cold towel to the forehead.

2. Wipe the whole body with warm water or take a bath: Undress the baby, rub the whole body with a towel in warm water (about 37℃) or take a bath. This can dilate the blood vessels in the baby's skin and dissipate body qi; in addition, when water vapor evaporates from the body surface, it will also absorb body heat. Take a bath for about 10 to 15 minutes each time, about once every 4 to 6 hours.

3. Warm alcohol bath: For alcohol bath, mix 70% alcohol with 1/1 tap water, or 75% alcohol with 1/2 water, or you can mix Erguotou liquor with 1/4 water, and put them in a small bowl. Keep doors and windows closed during sponge bath, dip gauze or a soft towel in the alcohol in the bowl, and wipe the child's palms, soles, armpits, inner sides of upper arms, chest and thighs. The temperature of the diluted water should be about 37-40℃, then wipe the limbs and back; if you wipe directly with alcohol, the children will feel very cold, very uncomfortable, and even convulse.

4. Wipe with a cool towel: Use a slightly cool towel (about 25 degrees) to wipe your forehead and face.

I hope that the above analysis and solution to the symptom of baby's fever and white tongue coating can be helpful to all mothers. At the same time, I would like to remind all mothers to pay attention to all issues related to the baby's health and not to think that a minor problem is not a problem. Learn more about your baby's health, and be sure to consult a professional doctor for matters beyond your ability. I believe that as long as mothers pay attention, their babies can grow up healthily.
