Treatment of cerebral palsy in children

When people mention cerebral palsy in children, they feel very scared, and their first impression is that it is a very serious disease. Although cerebral palsy in children is not a disease that poses a direct threat to life, it is also a disease that is very difficult to cure. Treatment of cerebral palsy in children becomes a big problem. Although there are many methods to treat cerebral palsy, there is no quick cure. Let's learn in detail about the treatment methods for cerebral palsy in children.

Cerebral palsy in children, whose full name is cerebral palsy in children, refers to non-progressive brain damage caused by various reasons from before birth to one month after birth. The main clinical manifestations are central movement disorders and abnormal posture. The manifestations of cerebral palsy vary depending on the cause and classification, but the most common ones in the early stages are: early symptoms in the first half of infants with cerebral palsy (within 6 months).

Clinical manifestations: Sudden stiffness of the child: difficulty in certain positions, such as dressing the child in supine position, flexing his body or hugging him. Loose: The baby's head and neck are loose and he cannot lift his head. When he was held in the air, his limbs drooped. The baby rarely moves. Developmental delay: Learning to lift the head, sit, and use hands is slower than that of children of the same age. One part of the body may be used more than another, e.g. some children often use one hand instead of both. Poor feeding: Poor aspiration and swallowing. The tongue often pushes milk and food out. Difficulty keeping quiet. Abnormal behavior: May be crybaby, irritable, and a poor sleeper, or may be very quiet, sleep too much, or not smile at 3 months.

Treatment: Exercise therapy for cerebral palsy in children. Movement therapy for children with cerebral palsy: Movement therapy is based on kinematics and neurophysiology. It uses instruments or the therapist's manual techniques or the child's own strength to restore and treat the whole body and local functions through active and passive movements.

There are several treatments for cerebral palsy in children. Parents of sick children should choose the treatment method according to their own conditions. During the treatment period, they should be careful not to seek medical treatment indiscriminately. Try to let your child do more normal exercise and keep him/her in a straight position when lying, sitting, kneeling and standing to prevent deformities.
