What to do if the newborn's head is tilted when sleeping

Newborns always have problems of one kind or another, but many people worry that they cannot handle these problems well. Sometimes newborns sleep with their heads tilted to one side. In order to prevent the future of the newborn from being affected, we need to understand how to deal with this problem. When a newborn's head sleeps at an angle, we are all worried that the baby's head will not be able to sleep straight. So what should you do if your newborn baby’s head sleeps tilted? Let’s see what the editor says.

Newborn babies are delicate and grow and develop very quickly, so mothers often face new problems one after another. The most common and most troubling one for mothers is that the baby's head is tilted when sleeping. In response to this worry that bothers mothers, experts from Beijing Sino-British Qingmuyuan pointed out that situations such as the baby's head sleeping on one side or crookedly sleeping are all signs of a common neonatal disease called flat head syndrome, with an incidence rate of 87.2% in my country.

It is reported that there are various causes of flat head syndrome, the most common of which is improper sleeping position of newborns. Because the baby's skull is extremely delicate and grows and develops very rapidly, if the baby's skull is under local pressure for a long time and exceeds a certain degree, it will lead to unequal skull development, that is, one side develops normally, while the other side is artificially suppressed. This is why the baby's head sleeps tilted and flat, causing flat head syndrome.

Scientific research has proven that flat head syndrome not only affects the baby's appearance, but also has an impact on his or her psychology, spirit and even intelligence, so mothers need to pay special attention to it.

Pay more attention to and observe your baby's brain problems to prevent and correct them early.

1. First of all, observe more and detect flat head syndrome early. Always observe the left and right sides, front and back sides of the baby's head. When it is less than 6 mm, it can be corrected normally as long as the sleeping position is changed frequently. When it is between 6 mm and 12 mm, it is moderate flat head syndrome and treatment is recommended. If it exceeds 12 mm, treatment should be carried out immediately. Generally speaking, when we observe with the naked eye that the baby's head is tilted when sleeping, the baby's flat head syndrome asymmetry has exceeded 6 mm, and we should consider artificial correction.

2. Secondly, early prevention can prevent your baby from suffering from flat head syndrome. You can use artificial methods, such as changing the baby's sleeping position frequently, not letting him stare at his favorite direction for a long time, and teasing him more when you have time. You can also use a more convenient and effective method, such as using an Anqu baby posture-correcting mattress, to establish the correct sleeping position for the baby as soon as he is born, so that the head is evenly pressurized and the occurrence of flat head syndrome is prevented.

3. Finally, prevention and correction of baby's flat head syndrome should be started early, generally within 6 months. Otherwise, once the baby's skull is fully developed, it will not be able to recover on its own.

When a newborn baby's head tilts when sleeping, we must correct or treat it in time. Many people are unable to deal with the problem of a newborn's head sleeping on an angle, so we need to go to the hospital to deal with this problem. Newborns all have problems of one kind or another, and we cannot worry too much about them. What we need is to seriously understand how to deal with these problems.
