What are the symptoms of cow's milk protein allergy in newborns?

Many people suffer from allergies in life, and the allergens are very different. One of these is milk protein allergy. This phenomenon also occurs in newborns. We all know that milk is often used to feed newborns, but if the child is allergic to milk, we cannot feed him milk. We need to first understand the symptoms of cow's milk protein allergy in newborns. Well, let me tell you about this content below.

For babies who are allergic to cow's milk protein, it is recommended to drink goat's milk instead. There are many parents whose babies are allergic to cow's milk. After their babies switched to goat's milk, the allergic symptoms were alleviated or disappeared. For example, the mother of a baby in Chongqing would develop a rash on her child's face and itchy whole body as soon as her child drank cow's milk. Usually, the baby couldn't sleep well at night, and the parents couldn't sleep well either. Unable to bear this long-term torture, they had to switch the baby to soy milk. In the end, the child became very thin, so they took him to the hospital for a physical examination. The doctor insisted on using other types of milk instead of cow's milk.

There are six major symptoms of milk protein allergy.

1. Skin: The incidence rate is about 50% to 70%. The most common is eczema, which usually appears on the baby's cheeks, forehead, scalp, behind the knees, inner bend of the elbows and the area where the diaper is wrapped, with red marks, swelling, itching, and pain, such as atopic dermatitis, rashes, allergic rashes, etc.

2. Respiratory aspects: The incidence rate is about 20% to 30%. The baby's nose or throat will itch, sneeze, nasal congestion, runny nose, asthma, tracheitis, sputum, rhinitis, otitis media, etc.

3. Anaphylactic shock, kidney syndrome, nocturia, restless sleep, conjunctivitis, red and swollen eyelids, etc. These physical discomforts will disappear immediately as long as you stop coming into contact with milk.

4. Because the gastrointestinal tract is the first to come into contact with milk, milk allergy is most common with gastrointestinal discomfort, such as diarrhea, vomiting, blood in stool, abdominal pain, bloating, etc. When the protein in milk is absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract, it is transported to various organs throughout the body through the bloodstream and can cause allergic reactions in different organs.

5. Development: Some babies will lose weight. Growth is slow.

Others: The baby may have loss of appetite, be irritable, listless, easily tired, cry frequently, or be unable to concentrate for a long time.

After understanding the symptoms of milk protein allergy in newborns, if the child has an allergy, we can detect the symptoms of the disease in time and provide timely treatment. In addition to understanding the above content, we also need to learn how to treat this allergic symptom in order to reduce the harm of this disease to children.
