Can two single eyelids give birth to double eyelids?

We all know that eyelids can be single or double. Many men like single eyelids, while women like double eyelids, because it is easier to put on makeup and the eyes will look bigger after makeup, which can attract more attention. However, the formation of eyelids is related to genes, so can two single eyelids give birth to double eyelids? From a genetic analysis, this situation will not happen. The baby will be born with single eyelids and it is impossible to have double eyelids. Let us understand the detailed reasons below.

A person has two genetic expressions: AA, Aa, aa. The expressions are double eyelids, double eyelids and single eyelids. The genes of both parents of single eyelids are aa, and the genes of the sperm and eggs they produce are a, so their offspring can only be aa. It can't be double eyelids.

If the patient does not like single eyelids, they can wait until the eyes are fully developed to have double eyelids. This will not affect the health of the eyes. The methods of double eyelid surgery are:

tarsal incision fixation

The incision and fixation of the tarsal plate is a relatively long-standing method of double eyelid surgery because it can adjust and change the tissue structure of each layer of the upper eyelid and can solve many complex problems of the eyelid, such as loose upper eyelid skin, inverted eyelashes, bloated upper eyelids, sagging orbital fat, loose orbital septum, and protrusion of the upper outer orbital rim.

The double eyelid formed by the tarsal plate incision fixation method is stable and durable, with deep wrinkles and a three-dimensional effect. The disadvantage is that the operation is relatively complicated and requires familiarity with eyelid anatomy. The operator must have a solid foundation in plastic surgery. After the operation, the scar of the incision line is more obvious within 3-6 months, and gradually disappears with time. Edema can often be detected one month after the operation, but by 2 months or longer after the operation, it usually looks very natural.

Embedding method

The buried suture method is suitable for young people with large palpebral fissures, thin eyelids, no swelling, no loose eyelid skin, normal tension, and no epicanthus. The advantage is simple operation and easy to master. The trauma is small, and the ligature is fixed between the upper eyelid dermis and the levator palpebrae superioris aponeurosis in front of the tarsal plate or the upper edge of the tarsal plate, and the wrinkle has a natural appearance. There is no incision, little tissue reaction after surgery, and no impact on work. It is easy for the patient to accept. If beginners do not master the technique properly, once failure occurs, the original method or the incision method can be used to make up for it without leaving any sequelae.

The disadvantage is that the upper eyelid fold can easily become shallower and narrower. If the case is not selected properly or the technique is not mastered well, the upper eyelid fold can easily disappear. The knot can easily come loose, leading to surgical failure. If the knot is buried too shallowly, it may be easily exposed or form a small cyst. The range of case selection is narrower than that of the incision method. If the upper eyelid is slightly swollen and the patient insists on the buried thread technique, a small incision can be made at the outer 1/3 of the upper eyelid fold to remove the orbital fat.

Can two people with single eyelids give birth to double eyelids? The answer to this question is very clear. The child born to two people with single eyelids will also have single eyelids. This article introduces the method to solve the problem of single eyelids, which is surgery. This operation is very minor and will not harm the patient. However, you must pay attention to wound care after the operation to prevent the wound from being infected, and choose a good treatment method to reduce the risk after the operation. Then the patient can have beautiful double eyelids.
