What medicine should a 6-year-old child take for diarrhea

In daily life, we sometimes suffer from vomiting and diarrhea if we are not careful, especially children whose resistance and immunity are not very good. What medicine is good for a 6-year-old child with diarrhea? This needs to be analyzed according to different situations. Because everyone's physical condition is different, some medicines are useful, and some medicines may not be effective even if taken for a long time. So what are the causes of diarrhea? How should we prevent it? How to take care of your child if he has diarrhea?

What causes diarrhea in children?

Diarrhea can be caused by a viral, bacterial, or parasitic infection, antibiotics, or some of the foods your child eats.

Viral infection.

Viruses like rotavirus, adenovirus, calicivirus, astrovirus and influenza virus, in any quantity, can cause diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain, fever, chills and body aches in children.

It depends on the cause of the child's condition. Generally, those with poor digestion will recover quickly, while if it is a viral enteritis, the treatment usually takes a long time.

It is recommended that you go to the hospital for a check-up. If it is rotavirus enteritis, it is recommended to take some oral antiviral treatment. Note that if you have a heavy diet, eating some millet soup with salt can prevent dehydration. If you urinate less and are in poor spirits, go to the hospital for infusion treatment in time to avoid acidosis.

Food stops diarrhea.

The following foods can not only provide the necessary nutrition for babies, but also have a certain antidiarrheal effect.

1. Scorched rice soup: Grind rice flour or milk paste into powder, fry until brown, add water and appropriate amount of sugar, and boil until it becomes a thin paste. Scorched rice soup is easy to digest, and its carbonized structure has a good adsorption and antidiarrheal effect. It is the first choice for infant diarrhea.

2. Carrot soup: Carrots are alkaline foods. The pectin they contain can shape stools and absorb intestinal pathogenic bacteria and toxins. They are good antidiarrheal and antibacterial foods. The method of making carrot soup is as follows: wash the carrots, cut them to remove the stems, cut them into small pieces, add water and boil them until they are soft, then filter them with gauze to remove the residue, then add water to make soup (according to the ratio of 500 grams of carrots to 1000 milliliters of water), and finally add sugar and boil. Take 2 to 3 times a day, 100 to 150 milliliters each time, and stop taking it after the diarrhea improves.

3. Apple puree: Apple is also an alkaline food, containing pectin and tannic acid, which has the effects of absorption, astringency and antidiarrhea. Take a fresh, soft apple, cut it in half, and use a spoon to scrape it into a puree.

The question of what medicine to take for a 6-year-old child with diarrhea is not a difficult one for many parents, because from the moment the baby is born, parents play an important role and are responsible for all aspects of the baby's eating, drinking, defecating and urinating. If the diarrhea lasts for a long time, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for treatment. After all, an early recovery is also good for the child's health, and parents don't have to worry about their children's diarrhea anymore.
